Key moments

The first set was closely fought, with Clube K finding just enough separation late on. Viana’s response in the second set changed the momentum; their serve began to trouble Clube K’s reception, and their block started to win points directly. The third set was the most dramatic of the night, with Viana edging it 25-23 to move ahead. That set could have broken Clube K, but instead it sparked their best volleyball of the match.

In the fourth set, Clube K raised their serving intensity and forced Viana into longer, more predictable attacks. The home side’s block-defense connection improved, and the transition kills came more easily. The fifth set remained tense, but Clube K made fewer errors in the decisive phase and closed it out 15-12.

Tactical story

Clube K’s comeback was built on serve-receive stability and better shot selection. After the third set, they reduced unforced errors and began using the block more intelligently, mixing power swings with tips and sharp angles. Viana’s defense had been excellent in the middle sets, but Clube K’s variety eventually stretched it.

Viana will look back at the fourth set as the turning point. Their passing broke down under pressure, and their attack became too reliant on high balls to the pins. Even so, their performance over five sets showed real quality, especially in the way they controlled the second and third sets.

Standout performers

Clube K’s opposite hitter was central to the comeback, carrying a heavy scoring load in the fourth and fifth sets. Their libero also produced several key defensive plays that kept rallies alive at crucial moments. Viana’s outside hitters were dangerous throughout, and their middle blockers caused problems with quick attacks, but the team could not maintain their efficiency in the final set.

What the result means

The five-set win gives Clube K two points and a confidence boost in the Campeonato Nacional standings. Viana’s single point is a consolation for a strong road performance, but they will know the match was there for the taking. In a league where tight matches often decide the final order, Clube K’s ability to win from 2-1 down could prove valuable later in the season.
