Stuttgart Women strengthened their home record in the 1. Bundesliga Women with a composed 3-1 victory over Suhl Women on 24 October 2026. The hosts controlled long stretches of the contest, absorbed a mid-match push from Suhl, and closed out the four-set win with the kind of serving and block balance that has become central to their game.

Match overview

Stuttgart set the tone early, taking the opening set 25-20 behind aggressive serving and a well-organized block. The home side doubled its advantage with a 25-22 second-set win, repeatedly forcing Suhl into predictable attacking situations. Suhl responded well in the third, tightening its reception and finding more joy through the middle, and a 25-21 set win briefly brought the visitors back into the match. Stuttgart, however, restored order in the fourth set and sealed the result 25-18.

Key moments

The decisive passage came midway through the fourth set. With Stuttgart leading narrowly, a run of strong serves disrupted Suhl’s first tempo and created a string of transition points. That burst turned a close set into a comfortable finish and denied Suhl the chance to force a deciding fifth set.

Tactical story

Stuttgart’s serving strategy was central to the win. By targeting Suhl’s outside hitters and mixing short serves with deep drives, the hosts limited their opponent’s ability to run a fluid offense. Stuttgart’s block followed the plan well, closing space at the pins and forcing Suhl into off-speed attempts. In transition, Stuttgart’s setter distributed efficiently, keeping the middle involved and creating one-on-one opportunities for the pin attackers.

Standout performers

Stuttgart’s opposite hitter delivered a steady scoring presence, especially in the first and fourth sets, while the libero anchored a solid reception line. Suhl’s middle blocker was among the visitors’ best performers, providing resistance at the net and keeping the third set alive. Ultimately, Stuttgart’s depth and composure in the closing set made the difference.

League impact

The three points matter in a competitive 1. Bundesliga Women race, where home victories are essential for teams with ambitions of climbing the standings. Stuttgart will take confidence from the result, particularly the way they responded after dropping the third set, while Suhl will look to build on the positive spell that briefly changed the match.
