• Set 1: Regensburg 25-22 L.E. Volleys
• Set 2: Regensburg 20-25 L.E. Volleys
• Set 3: Regensburg 18-25 L.E. Volleys
• Set 4: Regensburg 21-25 L.E. Volleys

Key Moments

The turning point came early in the second set. After Regensburg took the first set, L.E. Volleys tightened their serve and forced their opponents into a series of difficult receptions. A string of powerful jump serves from the visiting outside hitter gave L.E. Volleys a 12-7 lead, and they never looked back. Regensburg struggled to find rhythm in attack, committing several unforced errors as the visitors leveled the match.

The third set was even more one-sided. L.E. Volleys' block became a wall, repeatedly stuffing Regensburg's attempts from the wings. A spectacular double block at 15-10 sparked a 6-1 run that effectively decided the set. Regensburg showed resilience in the fourth set, trading points until 18-18, but L.E. Volleys' experience told as they closed out the match with a decisive 7-3 run.

Tactical Story

L.E. Volleys' game plan was clear: aggressive serving to disrupt Regensburg's first-tempo attack, coupled with a disciplined block-defense system. Their setter varied the offense beautifully, involving the middle blockers early to pull Regensburg's block out of position. Defensively, the visitors' libero was outstanding, digging several powerful spikes and turning defense into counter-attack opportunities.

Regensburg, meanwhile, relied heavily on their opposite hitter, but once L.E. Volleys adjusted their block, the home side became predictable. Their passing deteriorated under pressure, limiting their setter's options. Despite a strong serving performance in the first set, Regensburg could not maintain that level, and their error count climbed in the crucial middle sets.

Standout Players

For L.E. Volleys, the outside hitter was the undisputed star, finishing with a match-high 22 points, including four aces. Her ability to score from the back row kept Regensburg's defense guessing all night. The visiting middle blocker also impressed with five blocks and several key kills in transition. Regensburg's captain fought valiantly, leading her team with 15 points, but lacked consistent support from the wings.

Season Impact

This 3-1 victory lifts L.E. Volleys into a more comfortable position in the 2. Bundesliga South standings, keeping their promotion ambitions alive. For Regensburg, the defeat is a missed opportunity to climb the table, and they will need to address their inconsistency in attack if they are to challenge the league's top teams. The two sides will meet again later in the season, and Regensburg will be eager for revenge.
