Dachau set the tone early with disciplined serve-receive and a block that consistently narrowed Muhldorf’s attacking angles. • Set 2: Dachau 25-20
• Set 3: Dachau 25-17

Key moments

The first set was effectively decided midway through, when Dachau turned a 12-12 scoreline into a comfortable lead with a 7-1 run built on aggressive serving and two important block touches. Muhldorf briefly threatened in the second set, moving ahead 14-12, but Dachau responded with a 6-2 burst and never surrendered the initiative again. In the third set, Dachau jumped out to an 8-4 advantage and kept Muhldorf at arm’s length, closing the match without allowing a late comeback.

Tactical story

Dachau’s float serve targeted the seams of Muhldorf’s reception line and forced the visitors into predictable first-ball attacks. That allowed Dachau’s middle blockers to stay engaged at the net and turn defence into quick transition points. Setter Jonas Huber varied the attack well, using the pins to stretch the block before going back through the middle. Muhldorf’s best moments came when they slowed the tempo and worked through their opposite, but too many rallies ended with Dachau dictating the final swing.

Standout performers

Dachau’s outside hitter Lukas Reiter led the attack with a steady mix of power and shot selection, while middle blocker Felix Brandmeier created repeated block touches and kept pressure on Muhldorf’s hitters. Huber’s distribution was another key factor in the win. For Muhldorf, opposite Tobias Reichel was the most reliable outlet, and libero Simon Haas kept several rallies alive with sharp defensive reads.

Season impact

The three points strengthen Dachau’s position in the upper half of the 2. Bundesliga South table and give the team momentum heading into the next round. Muhldorf, meanwhile, will need to reset quickly after a result that highlighted the gap between brief spells of pressure and sustained scoring. The head-to-head result is also a useful confidence boost for Dachau, who showed they can close out a home match without needing a fourth set.
