Panathinaikos Women dominated on the road in the A1 Women, defeating ZAON Kifissia Women 3-0 on 24 October 2026. The visitors controlled each set with disciplined serving and a balanced attack, leaving the home side with few answers.

Match overview

Panathinaikos took the first set 25-17, quickly establishing a lead through aggressive serving and efficient side-out play. The second set was more competitive, but the visitors still managed a 25-21 win, thanks to a late run of points and some strong blocking at the net. Panathinaikos completed the sweep with a 25-19 third-set victory, maintaining their concentration from start to finish.

Key moments

The end of the second set was the critical passage. ZAON Kifissia had stayed close, but Panathinaikos found another gear behind the service line, forcing errors and creating transition opportunities. That finish gave the visitors a comfortable cushion and effectively took the sting out of the home side’s challenge.

Tactical story

Panathinaikos’s serving strategy was effective throughout. By varying targets and pace, the visitors disrupted Kifissia’s reception and limited the home side’s ability to involve the middle consistently. Panathinaikos’s block was well positioned, and their defense converted several difficult rallies into points. Kifissia showed moments of resistance but struggled to sustain pressure across long stretches.

Standout performers

Panathinaikos’s outside hitters led the scoring effort, while the libero delivered a composed performance in reception. Kifissia’s opposite hitter worked hard to keep the home side in contention, but the team’s first-contact inconsistency made it difficult to build momentum.

League impact

The straight-sets win adds important momentum to Panathinaikos’s A1 Women campaign and highlights their ability to perform away from home. For ZAON Kifissia, the focus will be on improving reception stability and finding more attacking variety ahead of the next round.
