Flisvos claimed the headline result of the A1 round, travelling to Thessaloniki and sweeping Aris 3-0 in straight sets. The victory, sealed 25-22, 25-19 and 25-21, was built on exceptional serving and a defensive display that repeatedly frustrated one of Greek volleyball's most passionate home crowds.

Match overview

Aris began with the energy expected of a home side and led for stretches of the opening set, but Flisvos stayed patient and struck late to take a crucial first frame. That set proved decisive for momentum. The visitors grew in confidence, tightened their block and controlled the second set from start to finish, before holding off a spirited Aris push in the third.

Key moments

• Set 1: Aris led 20-19, but Flisvos closed with a 6-2 run, capped by a decisive block at set point.
• Set 2: Flisvos broke away early and never allowed the hosts closer than four points.
• Set 3: Aris rallied to level at 20-20, only for the visitors to score five of the last six points.

Tactical story

The match was won at the service line. Flisvos consistently targeted Aris's reception, forcing the hosts into high balls that their attackers could not convert against a compact block. When Aris did generate quality first contact, they looked dangerous — but those moments were too infrequent to sustain a comeback. Flisvos's own side-out game was remarkably efficient under pressure.

Standout performers

Flisvos's outside hitter was the standout attacker of the night, delivering repeatedly in the clutch phases of the first and third sets. Their setter dictated the tempo superbly, and the libero produced several spectacular defensive plays that drew applause even from the home support. Aris's best contributions came from their captain, whose serving kept the third set alive.

Season impact

For Flisvos, this is the kind of away win that defines a season — three points, a flawless set ratio and a significant psychological boost against a traditionally strong opponent. Aris are left to regroup, and their priority will be reception stability, because the rest of their game showed enough quality to suggest better results lie ahead.
