Simba Bhora continued their impressive recent run with a dominant 3-0 win over Manica Diamond at home on Saturday. The result extends Simba’s unbeaten streak to five matches and pushes them further up the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League standings, while Manica Diamond remain deep in relegation trouble.

Fast start breaks Manica resilience

Simba Bhora came flying out of the blocks. In the 4th minute, a short corner routine caught Manica Diamond napping, allowing Innocent Chirwa to fire a low shot into the far corner. The early goal visibly unsettled the visitors, who struggled to keep possession and were pinned back inside their own half for long periods.

The second goal arrived in the 23rd minute. A long ball from the back was cleverly flicked on by Brian Muzondiwa into the path of Takudzwa Chikwature, who finished calmly under pressure. Simba controlled the tempo from there, with Manica Diamond offering little in attack.

Clinical finishing seals the win

Any hopes of a Manica comeback were extinguished just before the hour mark. A swift counter-attack saw Kudzai Nyakudya pick out the unmarked Munashe Dube, who headed home from close range. Simba could have added more, but the three-goal cushion was more than enough.

What the result means

Simba Bhora climb to sixth place, now with genuine ambitions of breaking into the top four. Manica Diamond, meanwhile, remain in the drop zone – 16th on the table with only eight points from 17 matches. Their defensive fragility has become a major concern, with 10 goals conceded in their last four outings.
