Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos FC played out a tense 1-1 draw in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League on 24 October 2026, a result that underlined how tight the race at the top of Zimbabwean football can be. Both sides had spells of control, both created chances, and both will feel they could have taken more from a match that was decided by fine margins.

Match overview

Ngezi Platinum started brightly, pressing Dynamos high and forcing early errors. Their reward came when they opened the scoring, finishing off a period of sustained pressure. Dynamos responded well, though, gradually settling into the game and finding more space in midfield as the first half wore on. The equaliser arrived after the break, and from that point the match became an end-to-end contest with chances at both ends.

Neither goalkeeper was overworked, but both made important interventions in the final 20 minutes. Ngezi pushed for a winner late on, while Dynamos looked dangerous on the counter. In the end, a draw was a fair reflection of a closely fought encounter between two recognised powers of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Key moments

• Ngezi opener: The home side took the lead after a spell of pressure, converting a chance from inside the box.
• Dynamos response: The visitors grew into the game and found the equaliser in the second half with a well-worked attacking move.
• Late chances: Both teams had opportunities to win it, but the goalkeepers and some desperate defending kept the score at 1-1.

Tactical story

Ngezi Platinum’s game plan revolved around pressing high and forcing Dynamos into mistakes in their own half. That worked well early on, but Dynamos adjusted by dropping a midfielder deeper to help with build-up play. The visitors also began to exploit the space behind Ngezi’s advanced full-backs. The second half was more balanced, with both teams trading possession and looking to strike quickly in transition.

Standout performers

Ngezi’s midfield worked hard to win second balls and keep the team on the front foot, while their centre-backs dealt with Dynamos’ counter-attacks for long spells. Dynamos’ goalkeeper made a crucial save late on, and their attacking players showed quick feet and good link-up play in the final third. The equalising goal was the product of patience and a well-timed run into the box.

What the result means

The draw keeps both clubs in the thick of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League picture, though both will know that dropped points can prove costly in a tight title race. Ngezi Platinum will be pleased with the performance but frustrated not to turn dominance into three points. Dynamos FC, meanwhile, showed resilience to come from behind and will take confidence from an away point against a direct rival. The result leaves the standings finely balanced as the season moves into its decisive phase.
