The Zam WL fixture between ZISD (w) and Green Eagles (W) ended in a decisive 3-0 victory for the visitors, with Green Eagles (W) delivering a clinical away performance at ZISD's home ground. The match, played on 1 October 2026, was shaped by the away side's sharpness in the final third and their ability to convert pressure into goals at key moments.

Match Overview

From the opening exchanges, Green Eagles (W) looked the more settled team. Their midfield pressed higher up the pitch, cutting off ZISD (w)'s short passing lanes and forcing rushed clearances. That territorial control gave the visitors the platform to attack in waves, and it did not take long for the breakthrough to arrive. Once Green Eagles (W) went ahead, the game's pattern became clear: ZISD (w) struggled to build sustained possession, while the Eagles kept finding space between the lines.

Key Moments

The first goal set the tone, arriving from a well-worked move that pulled the ZISD (w) defence out of shape. The second followed as Green Eagles (W) capitalised on a turnover, springing forward quickly before the home side could reorganise. By the time the third went in, the result was beyond doubt. ZISD (w) had brief spells of pressure but lacked the finishing touch, and their best chances were either blocked or off target.

Tactical Story

Green Eagles (W) set up with a compact shape and looked to strike on the transition, which proved highly effective. Their wide players stretched the ZISD (w) back line, creating room for late runs into the box. ZISD (w), by contrast, found it difficult to string passes together in the attacking third and were often reduced to hopeful deliveries that the Eagles' centre-backs dealt with comfortably. The 3-0 scoreline reflects the visitors' control of the game's decisive phases.

Standout Performers

• Green Eagles (W) forwards: Sharp movement and composed finishing punished every ZISD (w) mistake.
• Green Eagles (W) midfield: Won the battle for second balls and dictated the tempo.
• ZISD (w) goalkeeper: Made several saves to keep the deficit from growing further.

League Impact

The three points strengthen Green Eagles (W)'s position in the Zam WL table and add momentum to their campaign. For ZISD (w), the defeat is a setback that leaves them searching for consistency, particularly at home. The reverse fixture later in the season will offer an immediate chance for redemption. Based on this performance, Green Eagles (W) will feel confident of repeating the result.
