ZISD Women tried to settle into a passing rhythm, but they were often hurried in possession and found it difficult to progress through the central areas.

The opening goal arrived midway through the first half and gave Red Arrows FC Women the confidence to dictate terms. ZISD Women responded with a brief spell of pressure before the break, but the Red Arrows defence held firm and limited them to efforts from distance.

Tactical Story

Red Arrows FC Women set up with energy and purpose, pressing ZISD Women high and forcing turnovers in useful areas. Their midfield trio worked as a unit, closing down passing lanes and quickly releasing the ball to the forwards. The home side's ability to switch play from one flank to the other was a key feature of their attacking play, stretching ZISD's defensive shape and creating room between the lines.

ZISD Women, by contrast, found it hard to build sustained attacks. Their brightest moments came from wide areas and set pieces, but the final ball was often lacking. When they did get into promising positions, Red Arrows FC Women's centre-backs were well positioned to clear the danger.

The second goal changed the complexion of the match. With a two-goal cushion, Red Arrows FC Women could afford to sit a little deeper and protect their advantage. ZISD Women enjoyed more possession in the final half-hour but lacked the cutting edge to break down a well-organized defence.

Standout Performances

Red Arrows FC Women's midfield was central to the victory, combining industry with composure on the ball. The wide players provided constant outlets and were involved in both goals, while the defence delivered a solid collective performance to keep a clean sheet. The goalkeeper also made a couple of important stops at key moments, ensuring ZISD Women never gained a foothold in the contest.

For ZISD Women, the goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with several saves, and the midfield worked hard to keep the team competitive. However, the attacking unit struggled to find space against a compact and disciplined Red Arrows back line.

Zam WL Impact

The 2-0 win is a valuable result for Red Arrows FC Women in the Zam WL campaign. Three points at home, combined with a clean sheet, will strengthen their position in the standings and give the squad confidence heading into their next fixture. The performance also highlighted the team's balance between attacking ambition and defensive discipline.

For ZISD Women, the defeat serves as a reminder of the fine margins in the Zambia Women's League. They showed spells of promise but will need to be more clinical in the final third if they are to turn possession into points. Red Arrows FC Women, meanwhile, will look to carry the momentum from this result into their upcoming matches.
