Roan United and Green Buffaloes played out a goalless draw in the Zambia Super League on October 10, 2026, at the Roan Stadium. Despite the lack of goals, the match was a tense, tactical affair that showcased defensive organization and goalkeeping excellence.

Match Overview

Green Buffaloes, known for their attacking flair, started the brighter, forcing Roan United's goalkeeper into an early save. Roan United grew into the game, creating chances of their own. Second Half: Stalemate Continues

The second half was more of the same, with both teams cautious not to concede. Roan United's defense, led by captain Joseph Zimba, stood firm against waves of Green Buffaloes attacks. The visitors had a penalty appeal turned down in the 72nd minute, and Roan United nearly snatched a winner in the 88th minute when a free-kick rattled the post. In the end, a draw was a fair result.

• 88' - Roan United free-kick strikes the post.

Tactical Story

Both teams prioritized defensive solidity. Roan United sat deep and looked to counter, while Green Buffaloes struggled to break down a compact defense. The lack of a clinical finisher proved costly for the visitors, who dominated possession but lacked penetration.

Table Impact

The draw does little for either team's ambitions. Green Buffaloes remain in the hunt for a top-four finish, but dropped two valuable points. Roan United stay in the relegation zone but will take heart from a clean sheet against a strong opponent. Both teams will look to improve their attacking output in the coming weeks.
