Nkana FC produced a commanding 4-1 victory over Makeni All Stars in the Zambia Super League on 10 October 2026, with a clinical attacking display that underlined their quality in front of goal.

Match Overview

Nkana FC started brightly and needed only nine minutes to take the lead, setting the tone for a dominant first-half performance. Their midfield pressed aggressively, forcing Makeni All Stars into errors and giving the forwards a steady supply of chances. By the interval, Nkana had built a comfortable advantage, and although Makeni pulled a goal back, the home side never looked like surrendering control.

The second half was more of the same. Nkana managed the game well, slowed the tempo when needed, and then struck twice more to remove any doubt about the outcome. Makeni All Stars competed for spells but could not cope with Nkana’s movement and finishing in the final third.

Key Moments

• 9th minute: Nkana FC opened the scoring with a low finish after a quick exchange on the edge of the box.
• 28th minute: A well-worked move down the left ended with a cross converted at the back post for 2-0.
• 44th minute: Makeni All Stars gave themselves hope, scoring from a set-piece scramble just before half-time.
• 61st minute: Nkana restored their two-goal cushion with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area.
• 78th minute: The scoring was completed when Nkana’s forward rounded the goalkeeper and tapped into an empty net for 4-1.

Tactical Story

Nkana FC lined up in an attacking 4-2-3-1 and used their No. 10 as a free playmaker between the lines. That movement caused constant problems for Makeni’s midfield, which struggled to decide whether to press or drop. Nkana’s full-backs also overlapped frequently, creating numerical advantages in wide areas and delivering dangerous crosses.

Makeni All Stars tried to respond with a direct 4-4-2, looking for flick-ons and second balls. Their goal came from exactly that route, but they could not sustain pressure. Nkana’s pressing structure was too organised, and whenever Makeni won possession, they were quickly surrounded. The home side’s transitions were especially impressive, turning defence into attack in just a few passes.

Standout Players

Nkana’s centre-forward was the star of the show, leading the line with intelligent movement and confident finishing. The playmaker behind him controlled the rhythm of the attack, while the midfield duo provided energy and cover. Defensively, Nkana’s centre-backs dealt well with Makeni’s aerial threat after the early goal, and the goalkeeper made a smart save to protect the lead at 2-1.

For Makeni All Stars, the goalscorer worked hard and took his chance well, while their goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable. However, too many loose passes in midfield gave Nkana the platform to dominate.

Table and Season Impact

The three points and the four-goal performance give Nkana FC a significant boost in the Zambia Super League standings, improving both their confidence and goal difference. Makeni All Stars remain in search of consistency, especially away from home, after conceding four times. Nkana’s attacking form will worry upcoming opponents, while Makeni must tighten their defensive shape and reduce turnovers in central areas.
