Richmond Women 2-3 TS Galaxy Women — TS Galaxy Women came from behind to beat Richmond Women 3-2 in the South Africa Women's League on Sunday night, with Nomvula Khoza scoring twice and Sibongile Ndlovu grabbing the late winner.

Match overview

Richmond started brightly and took the lead through Lerato Mokoena, but Galaxy responded well and gradually took control of the midfield. The visitors' wide players caused problems throughout, stretching Richmond's back line and creating space for late runs into the box. The game remained finely balanced until the closing stages.

Galaxy's equaliser just before half-time changed the mood, and they carried that momentum into the second period. Richmond twice found ways back into the contest, but Galaxy's attacking quality proved decisive in the final ten minutes.

Key moments

• 18' — Lerato Mokoena gave Richmond Women the lead with a confident finish.
• 35' — Nomvula Khoza equalised for TS Galaxy Women after a quick move down the right.
• 61' — Khoza scored her second to put Galaxy ahead.
• 77' — Nomsa Dlamini levelled for Richmond with a header from a corner.
• 86' — Sibongile Ndlovu struck the winner for Galaxy after a goalmouth scramble.

Tactical story

Galaxy's game plan revolved around getting their wingers into one-on-one situations and delivering early crosses into the box. That approach paid off twice, with Khoza benefiting from good service and intelligent movement. Richmond defended bravely for long spells but struggled to contain Galaxy's width in the second half.

Richmond's own attacking moments came mainly from set pieces and quick transitions. Dlamini's equaliser gave them hope, but Galaxy's response was immediate and ruthless. The visitors managed the final minutes well, keeping possession in the corners and limiting Richmond's chances to respond again.

Standout players

Nomvula Khoza was the standout performer with two goals and a constant threat in behind. Sibongile Ndlovu delivered the decisive moment, while Lerato Mokoena and Nomsa Dlamini impressed for Richmond in defeat.

Season impact

The win lifts TS Galaxy Women in the South Africa Women's League standings and reinforces their reputation as a side capable of winning away from home. Richmond Women will take encouragement from their fighting display but will be frustrated to concede late on after twice battling back.
