First Touch Academy Women and TUT FC Women played out an entertaining 1‑1 draw at the TUT Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday. The result leaves First Touch rooted in the bottom half of the table, while TUT remain in mid‑table but extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

First Touch started the better side, pressing high and creating several half‑chances in the opening 15 minutes. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when winger Zanele Mkhize broke free down the right and delivered a low cross that striker Thandeka Ndlovu turned in first time at the near post. TUT responded well and began to control possession as the half wore on.

TUT’s equaliser came just before half‑time. Captain and midfielder Refiloe “Refi” Masenya picked up a loose ball 25 yards from goal and unleashed a dipping shot that sailed over the head of First Touch goalkeeper Linah Molefe. The goal stunned First Touch, who had been in control until that moment.

Second‑Half Battle

The second half was a scrappy, midfield‑dominated affair with few clear‑cut chances. First Touch’s best opportunity came in the 67th minute when Ndlovu was denied one‑on‑one by TUT goalkeeper Karabo Mokoena. At the other end, TUT substitute Lebogang Mokoena headed wide from a corner in the 82nd minute. Both sides settled for a point in the closing stages.
