Tactical Story

City Lads FC Women set up with a flexible 4-3-3 that allowed their wide forwards to drift inside and overload the centre. That movement caused First Touch Academy Women problems all afternoon, especially in transition. The hosts, meanwhile, relied on direct runs and set-pieces, which brought them an early goal but became less effective as the game wore on. City Lads' ability to control possession in the second half was the foundation of their victory.

Standout Performers

The City Lads midfielder who dictated the tempo was arguably the best player on the pitch, linking defence and attack with intelligent passing. Their right winger was a constant threat and provided the assist for the winning goal. For First Touch Academy Women, the goalkeeper made several sharp saves and the captain worked tirelessly in midfield.

First Touch Academy Women will be disappointed to have let a lead slip but can take heart from a spirited performance.
