Swansea started brightly and took control of possession from the early stages, moving the ball quickly across the pitch and forcing Barry Town into a deep defensive block. The opening goal arrived inside the first quarter of the match, setting the tone for what followed.

Key Moments

The first goal came from a flowing move that stretched the Barry Town defence from side to side before being finished with composure. The second followed before half-time, a further demonstration of Swansea's ability to convert territorial dominance into goals.

Any hope of a Barry Town comeback was effectively extinguished early in the second half when Swansea added a third. The visitors kept their shape and discipline, defending from the front and denying their opponents time on the ball in midfield.

The fourth goal arrived late on, capping an impressive team performance. Barry Town's best moments came from set pieces, but they were unable to find a way past a well-organised Swansea back line.

Tactical Story

Swansea's approach was built around width and quick combinations. Their full-backs pushed high, creating overloads in wide areas that Barry Town struggled to contain. In central midfield, Swansea won the majority of second balls, which allowed them to sustain pressure for long spells.

Barry Town defended in numbers and worked hard throughout, but their attempts to counter were often isolated, with the lone forward receiving little support. When they did manage to break forward, Swansea's defensive recovery runs snuffed out the danger quickly.

Standout Performers

• Swansea's attacking unit: Spread the goals across the match, showing both patience and ruthlessness.
• Swansea's defence: Kept a clean sheet and limited Barry Town to very few clear chances.
• Barry Town's goalkeeper: Made several saves to deny Swansea a bigger margin of victory.

Season Impact

Four goals and three points strengthen Swansea City Women's position in the Welsh Women's Premier League and extend their reputation as one of the competition's most formidable attacking sides. Goal difference can prove decisive in a title race, and performances like this one add real value over the course of a season.

Barry Town Women will view the night as a learning experience. The gap to the league's leading clubs remains clear, but the effort and organisation shown in difficult circumstances offer something to build on in the weeks ahead.

Swansea move on with momentum, while Barry Town turn their attention to the next fixture and the chance to respond.
