There was no shortage of drama on 8 October 2026 as Phong Phu Ha Nam Women and Ha Noi Women played out a 2-2 draw in the Women's National League. Four goals, a see-sawing scoreline and two sides refusing to settle for a point made this one of the most entertaining fixtures of the round.

Match Overview

Phong Phu Ha Nam Women started brightly in front of their home supporters, pressing high and looking to impose themselves early. Ha Noi Women, traditionally one of the strongest sides in Vietnamese women's football, absorbed the pressure and grew into the contest, showing the composure and technical quality that has made them perennial contenders.

The game swung back and forth. Each time one side appeared to take control, the other responded. By the final whistle, both teams had scored twice, and neither could argue they had been undeserving of their goals. A 2-2 draw felt like a fair reflection of a genuinely even contest.

Key Moments

• An early breakthrough: Phong Phu Ha Nam Women set the tone with a well-worked opening goal that lifted the home crowd.
• Ha Noi's response: The visitors equalised with a composed finish, demonstrating their ability to strike back quickly.
• The lead changes hands: Ha Noi Women went ahead after the interval, only for Phong Phu Ha Nam Women to find an equaliser and level the score at 2-2.
• Late chances: Both teams pushed for a winner in the closing minutes, but a combination of goalkeeping and last-ditch defending kept the scoreline unchanged.

Tactical Story

This was a match defined by two contrasting but equally effective attacking approaches. Phong Phu Ha Nam Women favoured quick, direct play and aggressive pressing, forcing turnovers in advanced areas. Ha Noi Women preferred patient possession, drawing their opponents out before accelerating through the lines.

The midfield battle was the heart of the game. Whenever Ha Noi Women found space between the lines, they looked dangerous; whenever Phong Phu Ha Nam Women won the ball high, they threatened immediately. The resulting end-to-end rhythm produced the four goals and made it a compelling watch for the neutral.

Standout Performers

Both attacking units deserve credit for their finishing and movement, while the goalkeepers were kept busy throughout and made key interventions at crucial moments. The central defenders on both sides had a demanding evening against mobile, intelligent forward play, and their recovery speed prevented the scoreline from climbing even higher.

What It Means for the Table

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in the Women's National League standings, though each will feel they could have taken more. For Ha Noi Women, the result maintains their unbeaten rhythm and their reputation as one of the league's benchmark clubs. For Phong Phu Ha Nam Women, matching a side of Ha Noi's calibre over 90 minutes is a genuine statement of progress and a platform to build on in the coming fixtures.
