The match was competitive for long spells, but Hung Vuong An Giang showed greater composure in the decisive moments. STP FOOD TP.HCM enjoyed spells of possession, especially after the interval, but could not find a way through a well-organized away defence.

Match overview

STP FOOD TP.HCM started with intent, pressing high and looking to use the width of their home ground. Hung Vuong An Giang, however, were happy to sit in a compact mid-block and strike on the counterattack. That approach paid off midway through the first half when the visitors took the lead.

After the break, STP FOOD TP.HCM pushed more players forward in search of an equalizer. The home side created a few half-chances, but Hung Vuong An Giang’s goalkeeper Le Duc Anh dealt comfortably with the danger. The visitors then sealed the result with a second goal in the closing stages.

Tactical story

Hung Vuong An Giang set up with a disciplined 4-2-3-1 shape that became a 4-4-2 without the ball. Their midfield duo protected the back four well, forcing STP FOOD TP.HCM into wide areas where crosses were easier to defend. The visitors also pressed selectively, often triggering their press when the home side played backward passes.

STP FOOD TP.HCM built play through their full-backs and looked to isolate their wingers in one-on-one situations. The plan worked in patches, but the final ball lacked precision. As the game wore on, the home side’s midfield left gaps behind them, and Hung Vuong An Giang punished that space with their second goal.

Standout performers

Nguyen Van Tai was influential for Hung Vuong An Giang, not only for his opening goal but also for his movement between the lines. Tran Minh Quan added the killer second and worked hard defensively from the right side. Goalkeeper Le Duc Anh deserved credit for a composed performance and a key second-half save.

For STP FOOD TP.HCM, Pham Quoc Bao was the most creative outlet, linking midfield and attack with neat touches. Defender Nguyen Hoang Nam also produced a battling display at the back, but the home side lacked the cutting edge needed to turn possession into goals.

Table impact and next steps

The three points strengthen Hung Vuong An Giang’s position in the Vietnam 3rd Division standings and give them momentum heading into their next fixture. Their away form has become a useful asset, with the team showing they can defend a lead and manage games effectively.

STP FOOD TP.HCM remain under pressure to respond. The home side showed enough energy and attacking intent to suggest results will come, but they must improve their finishing and reduce the space they concede in transition. With the promotion race and relegation battle always tight in the Vietnam 3rd Division, both teams know the value of every result.
