SHB Da Nang produced a disciplined and resilient performance to beat Hanoi FC 1-0 in the Vietnam National Champion League on Sunday, 25 October 2026, securing a notable home victory against one of the country’s most established clubs.

A single goal proved enough at the Hòa Xuân Stadium, where Da Nang defended with determination and limited Hanoi FC’s clear chances. The result gives the home side three valuable points and a clean sheet to build on in the league campaign.

Match overview

Hanoi FC began as the more proactive side, controlling possession and looking to move the ball quickly through midfield. Da Nang, however, were well prepared for the challenge. They stayed compact, closed the central spaces and forced their opponents to play around them rather than through them.

The home side grew in confidence as the first half progressed. Their attacking moments were less frequent but carried real intent, and they found the breakthrough with a well-taken goal that changed the complexion of the match. From there, Da Nang’s focus shifted to protecting their lead and frustrating Hanoi’s attempts to respond.

Key moments

• Hanoi FC dominated early possession but struggled to create clear openings against a compact Da Nang defence.
• Da Nang took the lead with a decisive attacking move, rewarding their patience and efficiency.
• Hanoi increased the pressure after the break, forcing the home goalkeeper into important saves.
• Da Nang’s defenders made several crucial blocks and clearances in the closing stages.
• The final whistle confirmed a hard-fought clean sheet and a significant three points.

Tactical story

Da Nang’s game plan was clear: stay organised, deny Hanoi FC space in central areas and strike when the opportunity arose. Their midfield worked tirelessly to protect the back four, and the defensive line held a disciplined shape even as Hanoi pushed more players forward in the second half.

Hanoi FC controlled much of the ball, but control alone was not enough. The visitors found it difficult to break down a determined low block and were often reduced to crosses from wide areas. When they did find a way through, Da Nang’s goalkeeper and defenders were equal to the challenge.

Standout performers

Da Nang’s goalkeeper was one of the key figures of the match, making important saves and commanding his area under late pressure. The centre-backs also deserved praise for their concentration and physical commitment, while the midfield’s work rate ensured Hanoi could not settle into a rhythm.

For Hanoi FC, there were encouraging spells of possession, but the final pass lacked precision. Their most dangerous moments came from set pieces and crosses, yet Da Nang’s defensive resilience kept them out. Hanoi will need to find more variety in attack in future matches against well-organised opponents.

What it means

The victory is a significant confidence boost for SHB Da Nang. Beating Hanoi FC is always a notable result in Vietnamese football, and doing so with a clean sheet adds to the satisfaction. The three points will help the team’s standing in the Vietnam National Champion League and reinforce their belief in their defensive structure.

For Hanoi FC, this is a frustrating result but not a reason to panic. They remain a strong side with quality in possession, but the match highlighted the importance of turning dominance into clear chances. The response in their next fixture will be important as they look to return to winning ways.
