Hong Linh Ha Tinh secured a 2-1 victory over XM Hai Phong FC in the Vietnam National Champion League on 24 October 2026, edging a competitive encounter at 19:00 local time. The hosts took the lead in the first half, saw their advantage cancelled out after the break, and then found a decisive second goal to claim all three points.

Match overview

Hong Linh Ha Tinh began the match with energy and purpose, pressing Hai Phong in their own half and looking to force mistakes. Their persistence was rewarded with the opening goal midway through the first half, a move that started with a quick turnover in midfield and ended with a calm finish in the box. Hai Phong grew into the game as the half wore on but struggled to create clear chances before the interval.

After the restart, Hai Phong pushed more players forward and found an equaliser with a well-worked move down the left. That goal changed the momentum briefly, but Ha Tinh responded strongly and regained the lead in the second half. The closing stages were tense, with Hai Phong pressing for another equaliser, but Ha Tinh defended resolutely to protect their advantage.

Key moments

• Hong Linh Ha Tinh opened the scoring in the 21st minute after a midfield interception led to a quick attacking transition.
• XM Hai Phong FC equalised in the 49th minute, finishing off a flowing move that stretched the home defence.
• The winning goal arrived in the 74th minute when Ha Tinh’s forward found space at the near post and converted from close range.
• Hai Phong pushed forward late on and forced a series of corners, but Ha Tinh’s goalkeeper dealt confidently with the deliveries.

Tactical story

Hong Linh Ha Tinh’s approach was built on compact defending and fast transitions. Their midfield worked hard to close down Hai Phong’s central players, forcing the visitors to play wide where crosses could be defended. When Ha Tinh won possession, they looked to attack quickly through the channels and catch Hai Phong’s back line out of position.

Hai Phong enjoyed more possession in the second half and used their full-backs to create overloads on the flanks. Their equaliser came from exactly that pattern, but they were unable to sustain the pressure after Ha Tinh’s second goal. The hosts dropped deeper in the final fifteen minutes, inviting pressure but limiting clear sights of goal.

Standout players

Ha Tinh’s goalscorer was the obvious difference-maker, showing sharp movement and composure in the box. The home goalkeeper also deserves praise for a late save and commanding handling of crosses. In midfield, Ha Tinh’s captain led by example with important tackles and intelligent distribution. For Hai Phong, the left-sided attacker was their most dangerous player, involved in the equalising goal and several late attacks.

Season impact

The win gives Hong Linh Ha Tinh a valuable boost in the Vietnam National Champion League standings and reinforces their ability to grind out close results at home. XM Hai Phong FC will be disappointed to leave without a point after a strong second-half spell, but the performance showed enough attacking quality to suggest they can respond in their next fixture. In a tightly contested league, Ha Tinh’s ability to convert key moments proved decisive.
