Match Overview

• Final score: Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-0 SHB Da Nang
• Competition: Vietnam National Champion League (V.League 1)
• Date: October 10, 2026
• Kick-off: 18:00

First Half: HAGL Press Rewarded

Hoang Anh Gia Lai began with intent, pressing Da Nang’s defenders and forcing long passes. The strategy paid off in the 18th minute when Nguyễn Quốc Việt intercepted a loose ball, drove into the box, and fired low into the bottom corner. The goal lifted the home crowd and gave HAGL a platform to control the game.

Da Nang tried to respond through wide attacks, but their crosses were dealt with comfortably by the HAGL defence. The home side’s midfield trio kept the ball moving quickly, and their front line constantly rotated to create space. HAGL went into half-time with a deserved 1-0 advantage.

Second Half: Quality Turns Control into Goals

The second goal arrived in the 52nd minute through Trần Minh Vương, who combined neatly on the edge of the area before curling a precise shot beyond the goalkeeper. It was a moment of individual quality that reflected HAGL’s growing confidence.

SHB Da Nang pushed more players forward in search of a way back, but that only increased the space behind their defence. In the 89th minute, Châu Ngọc Quang completed the scoring on a rapid counter-attack, finishing calmly after being played through one-on-one. The 3-0 scoreline was a fair reflection of the hosts’ superiority.

Tactical Story

HAGL’s high press was the defining tactical feature. They pressed Da Nang’s centre-backs and defensive midfielder, forcing errors and creating chances close to goal. When Da Nang managed to beat the first press, HAGL recovered quickly and limited the space in midfield.

In possession, HAGL used quick switches of play to isolate their wingers against Da Nang’s full-backs. The away side struggled to track late runners from midfield, which was particularly evident on the second goal. Da Nang’s build-up play was too slow, allowing HAGL to set their defensive block and counter at speed.

Standout Players

Nguyễn Quốc Việt was a constant threat, scoring the opener and stretching the defence throughout. Trần Minh Vương controlled the tempo and delivered a memorable goal, while Châu Ngọc Quang’s late finish capped an energetic substitute appearance. HAGL’s goalkeeper kept a comfortable clean sheet with a composed and alert performance.

What the Result Means

The win boosts Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s position in the V.League 1 standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the league’s most entertaining sides. For SHB Da Nang, the defeat leaves them with work to do as they look to climb the table. They will need to tighten their build-up play and reduce turnovers if they are to challenge for a top-half finish.
