Hung Yen 4-1 Huda Hue: Hosts Deliver Statement Win in Vietnam National First Class League

Hung Yen produced one of their most complete performances of the Vietnam National First Class League season on 28 October 2026, defeating Huda Hue 4-1 at home. A sharp first-half display put the hosts in control, and a clinical second-half finish ensured they took all three points in convincing fashion.

The scoreline reflected Hung Yen’s superiority across the match. They were quicker to loose balls, more aggressive in the final third, and far more efficient in front of goal. Huda Hue improved after the break and pulled a goal back, but the visitors were never able to turn the contest into a genuine comeback.

Match overview

Hung Yen started with intent, pressing Huda Hue high and forcing the visitors into early mistakes. The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute when Nguyen Van Tai latched onto a through ball and finished calmly past the goalkeeper. The home side doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark, with Tran Minh Quan converting from close range after a well-worked move down the right.

Huda Hue’s best spell came early in the second half. They pushed more bodies forward and were rewarded in the 54th minute when Pham Ngoc Hai found space inside the penalty area and reduced the deficit to 2-1. For a brief period, the match looked as though it might become tense.

Hung Yen responded exactly as a promotion-chasing side should. Le Duc Anh restored the two-goal cushion in the 72nd minute with a low strike from the edge of the box, before Nguyen Van Tai sealed the win in the 86th minute from the penalty spot after a foul on a driving run into the area.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Nguyen Van Tai opens the scoring for Hung Yen after a quick transition.
• 31st minute: Tran Minh Quan doubles the lead following a flowing attacking move.
• 54th minute: Pham Ngoc Hai gives Huda Hue hope with a well-taken consolation.
• 72nd minute: Le Duc Anh finishes from distance to make it 3-1.
• 86th minute: Nguyen Van Tai converts a penalty to complete the scoring.

Tactical story

Hung Yen’s victory was built on control in midfield and intelligent movement in wide areas. Their full-backs pushed high, stretching Huda Hue’s defensive line and creating space between the centre-backs. The hosts also dominated second balls, which allowed them to sustain pressure and prevent Huda Hue from building rhythm.

Huda Hue’s response after half-time was more positive, and their goal came from a rare spell of sustained possession. However, they left too much space behind their midfield when chasing the game, and Hung Yen punished them twice in the final 20 minutes.

Standout performers

Nguyen Van Tai was the clear standout, scoring twice and constantly threatening Huda Hue’s back line with his movement. Tran Minh Quan impressed with his link-up play, while Le Duc Anh’s energy in midfield helped Hung Yen win the territorial battle. For Huda Hue, Pham Ngoc Hai was their most dangerous player and took his goal well.

What the result means

The win strengthens Hung Yen’s position in the Vietnam National First Class League and adds momentum to their campaign. A 4-1 home victory sends a clear message about their attacking quality and squad depth. For Huda Hue, the result is a reminder of the work still needed defensively, especially when facing teams that press aggressively and move the ball quickly.

Hung Yen will now look to carry the same intensity into their next fixture, while Huda Hue must regroup and find a more compact defensive structure before their next league outing.
