Urena SC 1-5 Yaracuyanos: Visitors Run Riot in Venezuela Segunda Division

Yaracuyanos produced one of the most emphatic performances of the Venezuela Segunda Division round, thrashing Urena SC 5-1 on Monday, October 19, 2026. The visitors were sharper, quicker and far more clinical in front of goal, turning a competitive opening period into a one-sided contest with a ruthless second-half display.

Match overview

Urena SC had the backing of home advantage, but they were immediately put under pressure by Yaracuyanos’ high pressing and quick transitions. The visitors won second balls in midfield, attacked the spaces behind the full-backs and created chances at a steady rate. Once the first goal went in, the confidence visibly flowed through Yaracuyanos’ attacking players.

Urena briefly gave themselves hope by pulling a goal back before half-time, but Yaracuyanos restored control soon after the restart and never looked like surrendering the advantage. By the closing stages, the away side were playing with freedom, and the scoreline reflected their dominance.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Jhonny Aranguren opened the scoring for Yaracuyanos, finishing calmly after a quick move down the right.
• 28th minute: Carlos Sosa doubled the lead with a low strike from the edge of the box after Urena failed to clear their lines.
• 41st minute: Miguel Castellanos pulled one back for Urena SC, giving the home crowd a brief lift before the interval.
• 55th minute: Aranguren struck again to make it 3-1 and restore Yaracuyanos’ two-goal cushion.
• 72nd minute: Daniel Quintero added a fourth, finishing off a flowing counterattack with a composed effort.
• 86th minute: Sosa completed his brace and rounded off the scoring at 5-1 with a close-range finish.

Tactical story

Yaracuyanos’ success was built on aggressive pressing and fast ball circulation. Their midfield repeatedly won possession in advanced areas, allowing the front line to attack before Urena’s defence could set itself. The visitors also targeted the channels effectively, pulling the centre-backs wide and creating room for late runners into the box.

Urena SC struggled to cope with the pace of the game. When they did have possession, their build-up was too slow, and Yaracuyanos were able to recover their shape quickly. The home side’s best moments came from set pieces and direct balls forward, but they could not sustain pressure for long enough to make the match competitive after falling behind.

Standout performers

Jhonny Aranguren was at the heart of Yaracuyanos’ best attacking work, scoring twice and constantly stretching the Urena back line. Carlos Sosa matched him with a brace of his own, while Daniel Quintero added energy and directness from midfield. For Urena SC, Miguel Castellanos took his goal well and remained one of the few home players willing to run at the opposition, but the team’s defensive structure was exposed too often.

What the result means

The five-goal display gives Yaracuyanos a major boost in both points and goal difference, two factors that can prove decisive in the Venezuela Segunda Division table. It also sends a warning to the rest of the division about their attacking potential. Urena SC, meanwhile, must regroup quickly; the manner of the defeat will raise concerns about their defensive organisation and their ability to handle high-pressure opponents.
