Atletico El Vigia 2-2 Urena SC — a stoppage-time equaliser rescued a point for Urena SC as the two Venezuela Segunda Division sides played out an absorbing 2-2 draw at the Estadio Ramón Torres on the night of 12 October 2026.

The visitors had looked the sharper team for long spells, but El Vigia's second-half surge appeared to have stolen all three points until a late set-piece changed the story of the match in the final minute of added time. It is a result that keeps both clubs alive in the promotion conversation while denying either the momentum boost a win would have delivered.

Match Overview

Urena SC started with the clear intention of pressing high and denying El Vigia time on the ball, and the approach paid off inside the opening quarter of an hour. A driving run down the right opened space in the box and Carlos Zambrano finished low across the goalkeeper to give the visitors a deserved early lead.

El Vigia responded the way home crowds demand — with urgency. The equaliser arrived midway through the first half when Jhonny Ramírez latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the area and drilled it through a crowded penalty box. From that moment the match turned into a genuine end-to-end contest, with both goalkeepers called into sharp saves before the interval.

Key Moments

• 12' — Carlos Zambrano opens the scoring for Urena SC after a quick transition down the right flank.
• 23' — Jhonny Ramírez equalises for Atletico El Vigia with a first-time strike from the edge of the area.
• 55' — Urena SC hit the frame of the goal through a curling free-kick as the visitors push for a second.
• 68' — Kevin Peña turns the game around, converting a low cross at the back post to make it 2-1 El Vigia.
• 90+3' — Anderson Rojas heads home from a corner to level at 2-2 and silence the home support.

Tactical Story

The game was a classic clash of styles. Urena SC set up in a compact mid-block and looked to spring forward quickly, targeting the channels behind El Vigia's advancing full-backs. For the first hour it worked well, and the visitors created the cleaner chances in open play.

El Vigia's adjustment came shortly after the restart, when the home coach pushed an extra body into midfield and began overloading the left side. The switch forced Urena deeper and produced the sequence that led to Peña's goal. Having taken the lead, however, El Vigia retreated too far and invited exactly the kind of pressure they had spent the second half avoiding. The late corner that produced the equaliser was the logical conclusion of that retreat.

Standout Players

Kevin Peña was El Vigia's most influential figure in the second half, combining intelligent movement with the decisive finish that briefly put his team ahead. Jhonny Ramírez set the tone with the equaliser and never stopped running in midfield.

For Urena SC, Carlos Zambrano was a constant threat in behind and took his goal with real composure, while Anderson Rojas delivered the moment of the night with a header that showed exactly why he is trusted in the box during set-pieces.

Season Impact

A single point apiece does little to settle the Venezuela Segunda Division promotion race, but the manner of the draw matters. Urena SC will take confidence from twice scoring away from home and from the resilience shown deep into stoppage time, while El Vigia are left to reflect on two dropped points from a winning position on their own pitch.

Both clubs now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, where El Vigia will be looking for a more disciplined defensive display and Urena SC will hope the late equaliser becomes a platform rather than a one-off rescue act.
