Shurtan Guzor Run Riot With 4-0 Demolition of Pakhtakor II

Shurtan Guzor delivered one of the most complete away performances of the Uzbekistan Pro League round, dismantling Pakhtakor II 4-0 on Monday evening. The visitors were clinical, aggressive and relentless, scoring twice in each half and never allowing their opponents a foothold in the contest. For a reserve side that has shown flashes of promise this season, it was a sobering night against a senior team playing with real purpose.

Match Overview

Pakhtakor II approached the game with their usual possession-based philosophy, looking to circulate the ball through the thirds and use the pace of their wide players. Shurtan Guzor had other ideas. Their midfield pressed with discipline and their back line held a high line, squeezing the space in which Pakhtakor II like to operate. The result was a stream of hurried passes, misplaced touches and turnovers in dangerous areas.

Within the opening twenty minutes the pattern was clear: Shurtan Guzor were physically stronger in the duels, quicker to second balls, and far more direct in the final third. Once the first goal went in, the contest rarely felt in doubt.

Key Moments

• 17' – Opening goal: Aziz Kholmatov opened the scoring with a header from a whipped cross, rising above his marker at the back post.
• 34' – Second goal: Javokhir Rakhimov doubled the advantage with a curling effort from just outside the box that found the top corner.
• 49' – Third goal: Straight after the interval, Sanjar Berdiev finished a sweeping counter-attack to effectively end the game as a contest.
• 63' – Chance for Pakhtakor II: The hosts' best opportunity, a shot from inside the area that was blocked bravely on the goal line.
• 78' – Fourth goal: Substitute Umid Karimov completed the rout, converting a low cross at the near post.

Tactical Story

Shurtan Guzor's approach was built on winning the ball high and attacking vertically. Rather than over-complicating their build-up, they looked to play forward within two or three passes, targeting the channels either side of Pakhtakor II's centre-backs. That directness repeatedly pulled the hosts' defensive line out of shape.

Pakhtakor II's difficulties were compounded by their own ambition. Their full-backs pushed high in search of overloads, leaving acres of space behind, and Shurtan Guzor punished them time and again with quick switches of play. When the reserve side did manage to sustain possession, they lacked a cutting edge in the final third, with their attacking players crowded out by a well-organised visiting defence.

Standout Players

Aziz Kholmatov was the focal point of everything Shurtan Guzor did well, holding the ball up, winning aerial duels and bringing teammates into play. Javokhir Rakhimov dictated the tempo from midfield and capped his display with a fine goal, while Sanjar Berdiev's pace in behind was a constant problem. For Pakhtakor II, it was a night of hard lessons, though their young goalkeeper produced several saves that prevented an even heavier scoreline.

What It Means for the Table

The victory is a significant one for Shurtan Guzor, who strengthen their position in the upper half of the standings and give their goal difference a substantial boost. A four-goal away win sends a clear message to the rest of the division about their attacking potential.

For Pakhtakor II, the result is a reminder of the gap between reserve-team development football and the demands of senior league competition. The coaching staff will likely focus on defensive shape and decision-making in transition, both of which were exposed badly here. Their next outing becomes an important test of character.
