Sherdor Samarqand continued their impressive run in the Uzbekistan D1B with a 2-1 victory over Ahmedov FK on Thursday. The match, held at the Samarqand Sports Complex, was a tense affair that saw the hosts come from behind to claim all three points and move closer to the promotion playoff spots.

Match Overview

Ahmedov FK shocked the home crowd by taking the lead in the 18th minute. A quick break down the left ended with a precise cross that striker Farrukh Karimov headed past the Sherdor goalkeeper. The visitors then sat back, looking to protect their advantage, but Sherdor gradually cranked up the pressure.

The equaliser arrived in the 42nd minute when Sherdor’s playmaker, Jasur Khakimov, curled a beautiful shot into the far corner from the edge of the box. That goal changed the momentum entirely. Sherdor dominated the second half and got their reward in the 64th minute when winger Otabek Nazarov cut inside and fired a low shot into the net. Ahmedov pushed for an equaliser but found Sherdor’s defence in stubborn mood.

Tactical Story

After a slow start, they began to overload the flanks and switch play quickly, which stretched Ahmedov’s defensive block. The winning goal came from a moment of individual brilliance, but it was built on sustained pressure.

Ahmedov FK, meanwhile, used a 5-4-1 out of possession and looked dangerous on the counter. Their early goal was well taken, but they struggled to keep hold of the ball as the game wore on. Their manager made attacking substitutions late on, but Sherdor’s back line held firm.
