Salus 0-1 Deportivo LSM – Uruguay Segunda League

Deportivo LSM claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Salus in the Uruguay Segunda League on October 12, 2026. A second-half goal was enough to separate the two sides in a match that was short on clear-cut chances but high on tension.

Match Overview

The first half was a tactical battle, with both teams canceling each other out in midfield. Salus tried to use their full-backs to create overlaps, but Deportivo LSM's defensive shape was well-organized. The visitors sat deep and looked to hit on the counter, and they had the best chance of the half when their striker broke through, only to be denied by a fine save from the Salus goalkeeper. The teams went into halftime with the score 0-0.

The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute. Deportivo LSM won a corner, and the delivery was met by a powerful header from their central defender, who rose above the crowd to bullet the ball into the net. Salus responded by making attacking substitutions and pushing players forward, but they struggled to create meaningful opportunities against a determined Deportivo LSM defense. The visitors held on for a valuable away win.

Key Moments

• 72' – Deportivo LSM score from a corner, a thumping header.
• 85' – Salus' best chance of the match is cleared off the line.
• 90+3' – Deportivo LSM nearly double their lead on the break.

Tactical Story

Salus lined up in a 4-2-3-1, aiming to control possession through their deep-lying playmaker. However, Deportivo LSM's 4-4-2 mid-block was compact and disciplined, forcing Salus to play sideways and backwards. The winning goal came from a set-piece, an area where Deportivo LSM had clearly done their homework. Salus' inability to break down a deep defense was their undoing.

Standout Players

Deportivo LSM's center-back was the match-winner with his headed goal, and he also made several important clearances. Their goalkeeper was reliable when called upon. For Salus, their left winger was the most dangerous player, but he lacked support in the final third.

Table Impact

Deportivo LSM's win strengthens their position in the Uruguay Segunda League, keeping them in contention for promotion. Salus remain in the lower half of the table and will need to improve their attacking output to climb the standings. The three points are a big boost for Deportivo LSM's campaign.
