La Luz secured a comfortable 2‑0 home victory over Tacuarembo at the Estadio Municipal Parque Lieja, strengthening their push for the promotion playoff places in the Uruguay Segunda League. Goals in each half from Diego Méndez and Nicolás Sosa sealed the three points.

First‑Half Control

La Luz dominated from the start, using quick passing to stretch the Tacuarembo defence. The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Méndez rose highest to meet a corner from the left, directing his header past goalkeeper Martín Rojas. The home side continued to create chances, with winger Emiliano Pereira hitting the crossbar from 20 yards.

Second‑Half Sealed

Tacuarembo tried to respond early in the second half, but La Luz’s midfield, anchored by Facundo Olivera, snuffed out attacks before they could develop.
