Atenas de San Carlos started with purpose and were rewarded for their early pressure. • Atenas took the lead in the first half after a well-worked attacking move opened up the Fenix defence.
• The home side doubled their advantage before the interval, punishing a turnover with a fast transition.
• Early in the second half, Atenas added a third goal to effectively end the contest.
• A late fourth goal completed the scoring and capped a confident team performance.

Tactical Story

CA Atenas de San Carlos controlled the match through patient build-up and aggressive pressing after losing possession. Their midfield won the majority of duels and kept Fenix pinned back, while the forwards made intelligent runs behind the defence. Fenix attempted to defend in a low block, but the sustained pressure eventually created gaps that Atenas exploited with clinical finishing.

Standout Performers

Atenas’s midfield dictated the game and protected the back four well, allowing the full-backs to join attacks. The attacking players were efficient in front of goal, and the defence secured a clean sheet. For Centro Atletico Fenix, the goalkeeper was busy throughout and made a number of stops, but the team’s inability to hold the ball in attacking areas made the evening difficult.

Season Impact

The three points and the four-goal margin are a major boost for CA Atenas de San Carlos in the Uruguay Segunda League table, strengthening both their points total and goal difference. Centro Atletico Fenix will need to regroup quickly, particularly defensively, as they look to become more competitive in their upcoming fixtures.
