Karpaty U21 1–4 Zorya U21: Visitors Dominate in Ukrainian Youth League Clash

Karpaty U21 suffered a heavy defeat at home on 22 May 2026, falling 1–4 to a clinical Zorya U21 side in the Ukrainian Youth Team Championship. The match, played at the Karpaty training ground, saw the visitors race into a commanding lead before the hosts could find a foothold.

Zorya's young guns came out firing, pressing high and forcing early errors in the Karpaty defence. The breakthrough arrived in the 12th minute when winger Andriy Shevchenko Jr. latched onto a through ball and slotted past the goalkeeper. Two quick goals before half-time – a header from a set piece and a counter-attack finished by midfielder Denys Harmash – left Karpaty trailing 3–0 at the interval.

Second-Half Fightback Falls Short

Karpaty showed more urgency after the break, and forward Oleh Kosovskyi pulled one back in the 58th minute with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Zorya restored their three-goal cushion in the 72nd minute, substitute Mykola Shaparenko rounding the keeper to make it 4–1.

The defeat leaves Karpaty U21 in 10th place in the youth league standings, while Zorya's impressive away form keeps them firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish.
