FC Shakhtar Donetsk U21 2–0 Kolos Kovalivka U21: Miners March On

FC Shakhtar Donetsk U21 continued their excellent form in the Ukrainian Youth Team Championship with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Kolos Kovalivka U21 on 22 May 2026. The defending youth champions controlled proceedings from start to finish at their training facility.

Shakhtar dominated possession in the first half, with fluid passing and quick movement stretching the Kolos defence. The breakthrough came in the 34th minute when midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka (youth academy product) fired a low shot from 20 yards into the bottom corner. They doubled the lead just before half-time, striker Danylo Sikan heading in from a cross by right-back Oleh Danchenko.

Solid Defensive Display

The second half saw Shakhtar manage the game expertly, rarely allowing Kolos any clear sight of goal. Goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin (youth keeper) made a couple of routine saves to preserve his clean sheet. Kolos pushed forward in the final 15 minutes but lacked the quality to break down Shakhtar's well-organised backline.

The win keeps Shakhtar U21 in second place in the league, just two points behind leaders Dynamo Kyiv U21, while Kolos remain mired in mid-table.
