Match overview

Obolon Brovar Kiev U19 started brightly, pressing high and forcing Polissya into early clearances, but the visitors grew into the game and began to find space in midfield. The decisive moment came after the break when Polissya worked the ball into the box and finished clinically past the Obolon goalkeeper. The hosts pushed for an equaliser late on, but Polissya defended with maturity to protect their lead.

Key moments

The first half was evenly contested, with Obolon’s best chance coming from a free-kick that was tipped over the bar. Polissya’s goalkeeper was called into action twice before the interval, making smart saves to keep the score level. The breakthrough arrived in the second half when Polissya’s striker latched onto a through ball and slotted home. Obolon responded with pressure and a late header that went just wide, but the visitors held on.

Tactical story

Obolon Brovar Kiev U19 tried to play out from the back and use their wide players to stretch the opposition, but Polissya’s midfield pressed effectively and forced turnovers. The visitors sat slightly deeper after scoring, inviting pressure and looking to counter. That game management proved decisive, as Obolon struggled to create clear chances against a compact defensive block.

Standout performers

Polissya’s goalscorer was the obvious difference-maker, showing composure in the decisive moment. Their goalkeeper also deserved credit for a series of important saves, while Obolon’s central midfielder was the hosts’ most creative player, driving forward and attempting to unlock the defence.

League impact

The three points are valuable in the Ukrainian U19 Liga, where consistency separates the contenders from the rest. Polissya Zhytomyr U19 will take confidence from an away win and a clean sheet, while Obolon Brovar Kiev U19 will rue missed opportunities. The result adds another twist to the youth league table and underlines the fine margins in development football.
