Nyva Ternopil B and Bratslav Vinnytsia played out a 1-1 draw in the Ukrainian Second League on 23 October 2026, with both sides taking a point from a closely contested match at the Nyva Stadium.

The home side, Nyva Ternopil B, started with more energy and looked to impose themselves in the opening exchanges. Bratslav Vinnytsia, however, stayed compact and dangerous on the counter, and the game developed into a tactical battle rather than a free-flowing spectacle. In the end, neither team could find a decisive second goal, leaving the Ukrainian Second League standings unchanged at the top of the table.

Match overview

Nyva Ternopil B controlled much of the first-half possession, using quick passes in midfield to stretch the Bratslav defensive block. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when a well-worked corner was flicked on at the near post and finished from close range by Oleh Kravchuk. The goal gave the young Nyva side confidence, but it also forced Bratslav to commit more players forward.

Bratslav responded well after the interval. Their equaliser arrived in the 58th minute through Andriy Melnyk, who capitalised on a loose ball at the edge of the penalty area and struck a low effort beyond the goalkeeper. From that point on, the match opened up, with both teams creating half-chances but failing to convert them.

Key moments

• 23rd minute: Nyva Ternopil B take the lead through Oleh Kravchuk after a dangerous corner routine.
• 41st minute: Bratslav’s best chance of the first half is blocked bravely by a Nyva defender inside the six-yard box.
• 58th minute: Andriy Melnyk equalises for Bratslav Vinnytsia with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
• 74th minute: Nyva’s goalkeeper makes a strong save to deny Bratslav a quick second goal.
• 88th minute: A late Nyva header flashes wide as the home side push for a winner.

Tactical story

Nyva Ternopil B lined up with a youthful starting XI and tried to play through the thirds, especially down the right flank. Their midfield rotations created space in the first half, but the final ball was often rushed. Bratslav Vinnytsia defended in a narrow shape and looked to spring forward through direct passes, a plan that worked better after the break.

The key tactical shift came when Bratslav pushed their wingers higher in the second half. That adjustment stretched Nyva’s back line and created the space needed for the equaliser. Nyva, meanwhile, struggled to regain the same control they had shown early on, though they remained threatening from set pieces until the final whistle.

Standout performers

Oleh Kravchuk was Nyva Ternopil B’s most positive attacking presence, combining intelligent movement with a well-taken opening goal. In midfield, Bohdan Savchuk worked tirelessly to break up Bratslav’s counter-attacks and keep the home side organised.

For Bratslav Vinnytsia, Andriy Melnyk was the obvious difference-maker, taking his goal calmly and remaining a threat on the break. Goalkeeper Vitaliy Honchar also deserved credit for a crucial second-half save that preserved the draw.

What the point means

The draw gives Nyva Ternopil B another valuable point in the Ukrainian Second League, but it will feel like two dropped at home after taking an early lead. Bratslav Vinnytsia, by contrast, will view the result as a useful away point built on resilience and a strong second-half response.

Both teams remain in the middle section of the Ukrainian Second League standings, where consistency will be crucial as the season progresses. For Nyva’s young squad, the challenge is turning periods of control into victories; for Bratslav, the performance underlined their ability to compete away from home and respond after falling behind.
