Dibba Al-Hisn claimed all three points with a resilient 2-1 away win against Ahli Al-Fujirah in the United Arab Emirates Division 1 Group A on Friday, September 18, 2026. The match, which kicked off at 22:40 local time, saw the visitors overturn an early deficit to secure a valuable victory on the road.

Match Overview

Ahli Al-Fujirah started brightly and took the lead inside the opening quarter-hour. A well-worked move down the right flank ended with a low cross that was converted from close range, sending the home supporters into early celebration. However, Dibba Al-Hisn responded with composure, gradually asserting control in midfield and equalising before the half-hour mark. A precise through-ball split the Ahli defence, and the Dibba forward rounded the goalkeeper before slotting into an empty net.

The second half was a more cagey affair, with both sides creating half-chances. The decisive moment arrived in the 78th minute when Dibba Al-Hisn won a free-kick just outside the box. The subsequent delivery was only partially cleared, and a follow-up strike from the edge of the area found the bottom corner, sealing the win.

Key Moments

• 12' – Ahli Al-Fujirah take the lead through a close-range finish after a swift counter-attack.
• 28' – Dibba Al-Hisn equalise as their striker calmly rounds the keeper and scores.
• 78' – Dibba Al-Hisn score the winner with a powerful strike from outside the box following a set-piece scramble.

Tactical Analysis

Ahli Al-Fujirah lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to press high early on, which yielded the opening goal. However, as the game wore on, their midfield dropped deeper, allowing Dibba Al-Hisn to dictate tempo. The visitors switched to a 4-3-3 after the break, with their wingers stretching the play and creating overloads in wide areas. That adjustment proved crucial, as the winning goal originated from a wide free-kick.

Defensively, Dibba Al-Hisn were well-organised, limiting Ahli to mostly speculative efforts in the second half. The away side's centre-back pairing dealt comfortably with crosses, and their goalkeeper was rarely tested after the interval.

Standout Performers

Dibba Al-Hisn's central midfielder was instrumental, breaking up play and launching attacks. His passing accuracy in the final third was excellent, and he provided the assist for the equaliser. The right winger also impressed with his direct running, consistently beating his marker. For Ahli Al-Fujirah, their left-back was a bright spark going forward, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final 20 minutes.

What It Means for the Table

This victory lifts Dibba Al-Hisn into a more comfortable position in Group A, keeping them in touch with the promotion-chasing pack. For Ahli Al-Fujirah, it is a missed opportunity to climb the standings, and they will need to address their second-half concentration if they are to challenge for a top-four finish. The UAE Division 1 Group A remains tightly contested, and away wins like this can prove decisive in the race for promotion to the UAE Pro League.
