Yuksekova Belediyespor (W) held Fenerbahce SK Women to a 1-1 draw in the Turkish Women’s Super League on 18 October 2026, producing one of the most resilient performances of their season against one of the division’s strongest sides.

A point that will be celebrated

Fenerbahce SK Women arrived as clear favourites, and they dominated possession for long spells at Yuksekova’s home ground. The visitors moved the ball quickly and created several chances in the first half, but Yuksekova Belediyespor (W) defended with discipline and bravery, keeping their shape and blocking a number of attempts from the edge of the box.

Match overview

The deadlock was broken shortly after half-time when Fenerbahce finally found a way through. A clever run behind the defence was picked out by a precise pass, and the finish was calm and assured. At that point, many expected the visitors to pull away. Instead, Yuksekova responded with real character. They began to press higher, won a few important duels in midfield, and gave Fenerbahce something to think about on the counter-attack.

The equaliser arrived in the final 15 minutes. Yuksekova worked the ball into the box and were rewarded when a goalmouth scramble ended with the ball in the net, sending the home supporters into raptures. Fenerbahce pushed hard for a winner in the closing stages, but Yuksekova’s goalkeeper produced two excellent saves to preserve a hard-earned point.

Key moments

• 52 minutes: Fenerbahce SK Women take the lead with a composed finish after a well-timed run in behind.
• 64 minutes: Yuksekova’s goalkeeper makes a strong save to deny Fenerbahce a second goal.
• 78 minutes: Yuksekova Belediyespor (W) equalise after a scramble inside the penalty area.
• 85 minutes: Fenerbahce hit the side-netting with a fierce effort from a tight angle.
• 90+2 minutes: A crucial late save from the Yuksekova goalkeeper secures the draw.

Tactical story

Fenerbahce controlled the ball for large parts of the game, using their wide players to stretch Yuksekova’s back line. But the home side defended narrow and forced Fenerbahce into crosses rather than clear-cut chances. Yuksekova’s decision to stay compact and counter through the channels worked perfectly in the second half. Once they equalised, they dropped deeper again and relied on their goalkeeper and centre-backs to see the game out.

Standout performers

Yuksekova’s goalkeeper was the obvious hero, making several important saves, including a late stop that denied Fenerbahce all three points. The home side’s central midfielder also deserves praise for her energy and pressing, while Fenerbahce’s attacking midfielder was the visitors’ most creative outlet throughout the match.

What the point means

For Fenerbahce SK Women, this is a frustrating result in the context of the title race, as dropped points against a side lower in the table can prove costly. For Yuksekova Belediyespor (W), however, it is a significant boost — a demonstration of their resilience and a point that could matter greatly in the battle for league survival. It was a reminder that in the Turkish Women’s Super League, no game is straightforward.
