Amedspor Women 0-2 Ankara BB Fomget GS: Visitors Show Title Intent

Ankara BB Fomget GS strengthened their credentials in the Turkish Women’s Super League with a controlled 2-0 away win over Amedspor Women. Fomget scored in the first half and added a second after the break, managing the game with maturity and denying Amedspor the space to build any sustained momentum.

The result underlines Fomget’s quality in both boxes: they defended with discipline and took their chances when they arrived. Amedspor, backed by a lively home crowd, worked hard but struggled to turn possession into clear openings against a well-drilled visiting side.

Match overview

Fomget began the match on the front foot, pressing Amedspor’s back line and forcing several early corners. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when a quick passing move opened up the right side of the box. The cross was met with a composed finish, giving the visitors a lead that their early control deserved.

Amedspor responded with energy, pushing their wingers higher and trying to stretch Fomget’s defence. They won a few free-kicks in dangerous areas but could not find a clear sight of goal. Fomget’s goalkeeper was alert when called upon, and the visitors went into half-time with a narrow but deserved advantage.

• 22nd minute: Fomget take the lead after a flowing move down the right and a close-range finish.
• 38th minute: Amedspor’s best chance of the first half is blocked after a scramble in the box.
• 57th minute: Fomget double their lead with a low strike from the edge of the area.

• 86th minute: Fomget manage the closing minutes with a spell of composed possession.

Tactical story

Fomget’s 4-3-3 shape gave them control in midfield. Their holding midfielder sat deep to protect the back four, while the two advanced midfielders pressed Amedspor’s deep-lying playmaker. That structure limited Amedspor’s ability to play through the middle and forced them wide, where Fomget’s full-backs were comfortable defending one-on-one.

Amedspor’s best moments came when they switched play quickly and got their wingers running at the visiting full-backs. But the final ball was often lacking, and Fomget’s centre-backs dealt well with crosses. The second goal was a case of Fomget managing the game smartly: they won the ball in midfield, moved it forward with purpose, and finished before Amedspor could reset.

Standout players

Fomget’s striker was the focal point of their attack, scoring the opener and occupying both centre-backs throughout. Their central midfielder controlled the tempo and broke up several Amedspor attacks. For Amedspor, the goalkeeper made a string of saves to keep the score down, while their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Season impact

The three points keep Fomget firmly in the title conversation and add another clean sheet to their growing reputation for defensive solidity. Amedspor remain a difficult side to face at home, but this defeat highlights the gap in cutting edge against the league’s top teams. Fomget leave with exactly what they came for: control, efficiency, and a professional away performance.
