Zonguldak and Duzcespor played out a goalless draw in the Turkish Third League on 3 October 2026, a result that leaves both sides still searching for a breakthrough in the early stages of the campaign. Despite a lively opening, neither team could find the finishing touch in front of goal.

Match Overview

The game started with plenty of energy, as Zonguldak pushed forward through their wingers and Duzcespor looked to counter quickly. Chances came and went at both ends, but a combination of resolute defending and wayward finishing kept the scoreboard blank. The second half became more tactical, with both managers making defensive substitutions to ensure they did not lose the point.

Key Moments

• 14th minute: Zonguldak’s Emre Kaya breaks free but drags his shot wide of the far post.
• 37th minute: Duzcespor’s best opportunity falls to striker Burak Yılmaz, whose header is well saved by the goalkeeper.
• 68th minute: Zonguldak hit the crossbar through a powerful free-kick from Ozan Demir.
• 89th minute: A late corner for Duzcespor causes a scramble, but the ball is cleared off the line.

Tactical Story

Both teams adopted cautious 4-4-2 formations, prioritising defensive solidity over attacking flair. Zonguldak tried to build from the back but often resorted to long balls, while Duzcespor sat deep and looked to spring counter-attacks. The lack of a genuine number ten on either side meant the final third was often congested, leading to a stalemate.

Standout Players

Zonguldak’s goalkeeper, Serkan Aksoy, was the busiest player on the pitch, making three important saves to preserve his clean sheet. Defenders Ali Çelik and Murat Şen were also solid. For Duzcespor, Burak Yılmaz worked tirelessly up front, and midfielder Hakan Öztürk impressed with his distribution under pressure.

Season Impact

The draw leaves both clubs in mid-table, with Zonguldak still unbeaten at home but lacking a cutting edge. Duzcespor will be pleased with a clean sheet on the road but know they need to turn draws into wins if they are to challenge for promotion. Both sides will look to sharpen their finishing in the coming weeks.
