Etimesgut Belediye Spor 2-2 Balikesirspor: Hosts Fight Back Twice in Four-Goal Draw

Etimesgut Belediye Spor and Balikesirspor shared the points in a 2-2 draw in the Turkish Third League on 18 October 2026, with the hosts twice coming from behind in an entertaining contest. The 19:30 fixture produced four goals, plenty of midfield battles and a tense finish as both sides pushed for a winner.

Match overview

Balikesirspor started brightly and took the game to their hosts, using quick passes through midfield to create early openings. Etimesgut Belediye Spor responded well after falling behind, equalising before half-time and then recovering again after the visitors regained the lead. The match remained open throughout, with both teams showing attacking intent but also leaving space at the back.

The draw felt like a fair reflection of a game that swung in both directions. Etimesgut Belediye Spor enjoyed longer spells of possession, while Balikesirspor looked dangerous whenever they broke forward. The final stages were stretched, but neither side could find the decisive fifth goal.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Balikesirspor opened the scoring with a composed finish after a quick move through the middle.
• 32nd minute: Etimesgut Belediye Spor equalised with a well-placed effort from the edge of the box.
• 61st minute: Balikesirspor restored their lead, converting a chance from a wide delivery.
• 78th minute: The hosts levelled again, capitalising on a defensive scramble to make it 2-2.

Tactical story

Etimesgut Belediye Spor’s game plan centred on controlling possession and using their wide players to stretch the Balikesirspor defence. That approach worked in spells, especially after the break, when the hosts increased the tempo and forced their opponents deeper. However, their willingness to push full-backs forward left them exposed to counter-attacks.

Balikesirspor were happy to defend in a compact block and strike on the break. Their two goals came from moments of quick thinking and good movement in the final third. In the end, neither defence could fully control the opposition’s attacking threat, which made for an open and watchable contest.

Standout performers

Etimesgut Belediye Spor’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of most of their best moves, linking play and creating chances. Balikesirspor’s centre-forward caused problems throughout with intelligent movement and hold-up play. Both goalkeepers were called into action and made important saves during the second half.

Season impact

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in the Turkish Third League, though the draw may feel more satisfying for Etimesgut Belediye Spor after twice fighting back. Balikesirspor will be frustrated to surrender the lead twice, but their attacking display offered plenty of encouragement for the matches ahead.
