Altay Spor Kulubu 1-3 Eskisehirspor: Away Side Come From Behind to Claim Impressive Win

Eskisehirspor delivered a statement performance in the Turkish Third League on Sunday, recovering from an early deficit to beat Altay Spor Kulubu 3-1 away from home. The visitors trailed after conceding inside the opening exchanges but responded with three unanswered goals to take all three points from a fiercely contested fixture.

Match Overview

Altay began brightly, pressing high and testing the Eskisehirspor back line with early deliveries into the box. Their reward came quickly, with a well-worked move down the left finished confidently to give the hosts a lead and lift the home crowd.

The advantage lasted only until Eskisehirspor found their rhythm. Once the visitors settled into possession, they began to stretch Altay's defensive shape, and an equaliser arrived before half-time. From that point on, the momentum shifted decisively, and Eskisehirspor controlled long stretches of the second half on the way to a convincing scoreline.

Key Moments

• Altay's opener: An incisive move down the left flank produced the opening goal, rewarding the hosts' aggressive start.
• The equaliser: Eskisehirspor levelled with a composed finish after a period of sustained pressure, restoring parity before the interval.
• Taking the lead: Early in the second half, a set-piece routine caught Altay's defence flat-footed, and the visitors turned the game around.
• Sealing the win: A late counter-attack, finished with real conviction, put the result beyond doubt and silenced the home support.

Tactical Story

Altay's early intensity was impressive but proved difficult to sustain. As the game wore on, their midfield line dropped deeper, creating a gap between defence and attack that Eskisehirspor exploited repeatedly. The visitors' ability to win second balls in the middle third proved decisive, allowing them to build attacking sequences without being pressed effectively.

Eskisehirspor's second-half adjustments were equally important. By pushing their wide players higher and encouraging the full-backs to overlap, they forced Altay into defensive rotations that created space in the penalty area. The hosts, chasing the game late on, left themselves exposed at the back and were punished on the counter.

Standout Performers

The Eskisehirspor forward line deserves much of the praise, combining movement and link-up play to unsettle a physical Altay defence. The midfield screened the back four intelligently after the equaliser, ensuring the hosts' periods of pressure rarely translated into clear chances.

For Altay, the opening goal was a reminder of what the side is capable of when pressing as a unit. Their goalkeeper made several important stops to keep the scoreline respectable, but the defensive unit will need to review the goals conceded from set plays and transitions.

Season Impact

An away win of this kind carries real weight in the Turkish Third League, where travel and tight margins so often decide promotion races. Eskisehirspor leave with three points, a morale-boosting comeback, and evidence that their squad can respond when things go against them early on.

Altay Spor Kulubu remain with work to do. Turning bright starts into full-match control is the immediate challenge, and the coaching staff will be looking for a stronger response in the coming fixtures as the table begins to take shape.
