Akehirspor 0-3 Eskisehirspor: Clinical Away Display Settles Turkish Third League Clash

Full-time: Akehirspor 0, Eskisehirspor 3

Eskisehirspor delivered one of the most authoritative away performances of the Turkish Third League matchday on Saturday, October 3, 2026, defeating Akehirspor 3-0 at 20:00 local time. The visitors controlled the tempo from the opening exchanges, defended with discipline and punished their hosts with three well-taken goals that underlined their promotion credentials in the TFF 3. Lig.

The result gives Eskisehirspor a valuable three points on the road and leaves Akehirspor searching for answers after a night when they struggled to match their opponent’s intensity in midfield and conceded at key moments.

Match Overview

Eskisehirspor lined up in a 4-2-3-1 shape, with the double pivot of Kerem Sönmez and Arda Polat sitting deep to protect the back four while the wide players stretched Akehirspor’s defensive line. Akehirspor began in a 4-4-2 system and attempted to press high, but their midfield was pulled apart by Eskisehirspor’s quick circulation and intelligent movement between the lines.

After a cagey opening ten minutes, Eskisehirspor found their rhythm. Their first goal arrived in the 18th minute and set the tone for the rest of the contest: a sharp turnover in midfield, a pass into the right channel and a composed finish from Berkay Aydın. Akehirspor briefly threatened through a Mert Yılmaz header, but the save from Kerem Sönmez kept the away side in front.

Key Moments

• 18’ – 0-1: Berkay Aydın opened the scoring with a low, curling effort after being released by Arda Polat.
• 42’ – Akehirspor chance: Mert Yılmaz rose well from a corner, but Kerem Sönmez tipped the ball over the bar.
• 54’ – 0-2: Eskisehirspor doubled the lead when Emre Kaya tapped in from close range after a flowing move down the left.
• 78’ – 0-3: Substitute Yusuf Demir sealed the win with a calm finish on the counter-attack.
• 86’ – Red card: Akehirspor’s Hasan Çelik was shown a second yellow card after a late challenge, summing up a frustrating night for the hosts.

Tactical Story

The match was decided by Eskisehirspor’s superiority in transition. Their midfield pair screened the back four effectively, while the full-backs pushed forward only when the opportunity was clear. Akehirspor tried to play direct balls into the channels, but Eskisehirspor’s centre-backs read the danger well and won the majority of aerial duels.

When Akehirspor did win possession, they were often forced sideways rather than forward. Eskisehirspor’s compact 4-2-3-1 became a 4-4-2 out of possession, making it difficult for the home side to find passes through the middle. The third goal was the perfect example: Akehirspor lost the ball in the final third, and Eskisehirspor needed only three passes to create a scoring chance.

Standout Players

Berkay Aydın was the standout attacker, combining a goal with an assist and constantly asking questions of Akehirspor’s right-back. Kerem Sönmez was excellent in goal and also distributed quickly, while captain Onur Akman controlled the defensive line with calm authority. For Akehirspor, goalkeeper Mert Yılmaz made several saves to keep the score respectable, but the home side lacked a consistent creative spark.

Table and Season Impact

The win strengthens Eskisehirspor’s position in the Turkish Third League standings and keeps them in the conversation for the promotion places. Their recent head-to-head record against Akehirspor also improves with this result. For Akehirspor, the defeat is a setback in their bid to climb away from the lower half of the table, and the red card late on adds to the frustration. Eskisehirspor will take confidence from a clean sheet and a three-goal away victory as the season moves deeper into its autumn schedule.
