Adanaspor were held to a 1-1 draw by Mazidagi Fosfatspo in the Turkish Third League on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in a match that mixed early control from the hosts with stubborn resistance and a well-worked equaliser from the visitors. Adanaspor took the lead through a first-half penalty, but Mazidagi Fosfatspo responded after the break and defended resolutely to take a valuable point away from home.

The result leaves Adanaspor frustrated in their pursuit of the top places, while Mazidagi Fosfatspo will see it as a sign of progress in the TFF 3. Lig campaign.

Match Overview

Adanaspor started in a 4-3-3 formation, looking to dominate possession and create chances through their wide forwards. Mazidagi Fosfatspo lined up in a 5-4-1 defensive shape, sitting deep and looking to spring counter-attacks through their lone striker. The hosts controlled the opening half-hour, moving the ball quickly and forcing Mazidagi into a series of defensive clearances.

The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Adanaspor were awarded a penalty after a foul on Mert Aydın inside the box. Tolga Erdem stepped up and converted confidently, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Adanaspor continued to press for a second, but Mazidagi’s goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the score at 1-0 going into half-time.

Key Moments

• 22’ – 1-0: Tolga Erdem converted a penalty after Mert Aydın was brought down in the area.
• 35’ – Mazidagi chance: A rare counter-attack ended with a shot dragged just wide of the far post.
• 58’ – 1-1: Yavuz Kaya equalised with a low shot from the edge of the box after Adanaspor failed to clear a corner.
• 73’ – Disallowed goal: Adanaspor thought they had restored their lead, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
• 88’ – Crucial save: Mazidagi’s goalkeeper denied a close-range header to preserve the draw.

Tactical Story

Adanaspor’s possession-based approach gave them control, but they struggled to break down a packed Mazidagi defence. The visitors’ back five stayed narrow, forcing Adanaspor into crosses that were comfortably dealt with. When Adanaspor did find space in behind, the final touch or decision let them down.

Mazidagi Fosfatspo grew into the game as it wore on. Their equaliser came from a set-piece, but it was no accident: they had been pushing more players forward on corners and caused problems with their height in the box. After drawing level, they dropped back into their defensive block and defended with real commitment. Adanaspor pushed hard for a winner, but the visitors’ discipline and goalkeeping kept them at bay.

Standout Players

Tolga Erdem was Adanaspor’s most composed player, scoring the penalty and linking play in the final third. Mert Aydın was a constant threat before being substituted, and his movement won the spot-kick. For Mazidagi Fosfatspo, Yavuz Kaya’s equaliser was the highlight, while their goalkeeper was the hero with a series of saves, especially in the closing stages. The defensive unit as a whole deserved credit for withstanding sustained pressure.

Table and Season Impact

Adanaspor drop two points in the Turkish Third League standings, which could prove costly in a promotion race that often rewards consistency. Their head-to-head record against Mazidagi Fosfatspo remains competitive, but they will feel this was an opportunity missed. Mazidagi Fosfatspo, on the other hand, add a hard-earned away point to their tally and will take confidence from a performance built on organisation and resilience. In the TFF 3. Lig, results like this can be the difference between a comfortable season and a relegation battle.
