Erzurumspor FK produced an impressive away performance in the Turkish Super League on Saturday night, defeating Gaziantep Futbol Kulübü 3-1 at Gaziantep Stadium with a clinical second-half display.

Gaziantep FK had moments of control and equalised in the first half, but Erzurumspor’s counter-attacking threat proved decisive. The visitors scored twice after the break and managed the closing stages comfortably to take all three points.

Match overview

The 21:00 kick-off began with Gaziantep trying to impose themselves at home, moving the ball through midfield and looking for width in the final third. Erzurumspor, however, were dangerous on the break and took the lead early after punishing a loose pass.

Gaziantep responded well and levelled before half-time, but the second half belonged to Erzurumspor. Their compact defensive block and quick transitions created repeated problems, and two well-taken goals secured a significant away win.

Key moments

• 9th minute: Erzurumspor took the lead after intercepting a misplaced pass and finishing low into the corner.
• 34th minute: Gaziantep FK equalised with a well-worked move, converting from close range after a cross from the right.
• 62nd minute: Erzurumspor restored their lead with a fast counter-attack, finishing calmly past the goalkeeper.
• 84th minute: The visitors sealed the win with a third goal, again exploiting space behind Gaziantep’s advanced defence.

Tactical story

Erzurumspor’s game plan was built on defensive discipline and rapid counters. They conceded possession at times but stayed compact, forced Gaziantep into wide areas, and then attacked with purpose when turnovers occurred. Their midfield worked hard to close central lanes, while the forward line stretched the home defence.

Gaziantep pushed more players forward after falling behind, but that only increased the space for Erzurumspor’s counter-attacks. The home side’s final ball was inconsistent, and they struggled to break down a well-drilled defensive unit in the second half.

Standout performers

Erzurumspor’s centre-forward led the line brilliantly, linking play and finishing with confidence. Their midfield also deserved credit for turning defence into attack so quickly. For Gaziantep, the winger who provided the assist for the equaliser was their brightest attacking outlet, but the home side could not build on that moment.

Season impact

The victory is a major boost for Erzurumspor FK in the Turkish Super League and shows their ability to win away against difficult opposition. Gaziantep FK will be disappointed with the defensive errors that allowed the visitors to counter so effectively. The result adds pressure on the home side and gives Erzurumspor valuable momentum in the league table.
