Tactical story

Aliaga defended in a mid-block and looked to spring forward whenever they won the ball, targeting the space behind Somaspor’s advanced full-backs. The equaliser came from a set piece, but Aliaga’s response was impressive: they regrouped, slowed the tempo and found the winner through a moment of individual quality from Baran Işık.

Standout players

Baran Işık was the match-winner for Aliaga, combining energy with a decisive finish. Emre Aydın’s early goal set the tone, while the goalkeeper made a crucial save in the second half. For Somaspor, Mert Çelik was the most positive performer, scoring the equaliser and winning several aerial duels. Their failure to convert late pressure into a second goal proved costly.

Season impact

The victory strengthens Aliaga Futbol’s position in the Turkish Second League promotion race and gives them momentum for the weeks ahead. Somaspor remain in a difficult situation near the lower end of the table and will need to improve their home form quickly. With the margins so tight in the division, Aliaga’s ability to win away in a scrappy contest could prove crucial come the end of the season.
