Inegolspor 0-1 Karacabey Belediyespor — a single goal was enough to settle a tight, fiercely contested Bursa derby in the Turkish Second League, as Karacabey Belediyespor left the İnegöl İlçe Stadium with all three points and local bragging rights.

A derby decided by one moment

Matches between these two Bursa-province neighbours rarely follow a script, and this one was no exception. Inegolspor enjoyed the better of the early possession, pressing high and forcing a string of corners, but the visitors defended their box with discipline and looked increasingly dangerous on the counter. The breakthrough arrived against the run of play and ultimately proved decisive, with Karacabey converting their clearest chance of the night and then defending the lead with a compact, organised rearguard for the remainder of the contest.

Key moments

• The opening goal: Karacabey Belediyespor struck the only goal of the game, punishing Inegolspor for a period of over-commitment in midfield.
• Inegolspor's response: The hosts pushed bodies forward after the break, sending extra numbers into the box and forcing a series of blocks and clearances from the visiting defence.
• The late siege: The final fifteen minutes were played almost entirely in Karacabey's half, but the away side held their shape, cleared their lines and ran the clock down intelligently.

Tactical story

Inegolspor set up to dominate the ball, building patiently from the back and looking to overload the flanks. It worked in terms of territory, but the final ball repeatedly lacked precision, and too many crosses were delivered into a crowded penalty area where Karacabey's centre-backs were comfortable. Karacabey, by contrast, were happy to concede possession and strike in transition. Their midfield screen sat deep, cutting the passing lanes into the Inegolspor front line, and their wide players broke at speed whenever the hosts lost the ball in advanced areas. It was a classic away performance in the Turkish Second League: disciplined, patient and ruthlessly efficient when the chance came.

Standout performers

Karacabey's goalkeeper was the quiet hero of the night, commanding his area and claiming several dangerous deliveries under pressure. The back four in front of him defended with real grit, while the goalscorer's willingness to run into space behind the Inegolspor defence gave his team an outlet all evening. For Inegolspor, the midfield engine room never stopped working, and the wide players carried genuine threat, but the lack of a cutting edge in the final third was the difference between a point and nothing at all.

What it means for the table

The victory lifts Karacabey Belediyespor's confidence and adds valuable away points in a division where road results are notoriously hard to come by. For Inegolspor, the defeat is a frustrating one — a game with plenty of possession and territory but no reward, and a reminder that in the Turkish Second League, home advantage counts for little if chances are not taken. Both clubs will now turn quickly to their next fixtures, with Inegolspor desperate to rediscover their scoring touch and Karacabey keen to build momentum on the back of a hard-earned clean sheet.
