Hekimoglu Trabzon 2-2 Ankarademirspor: Late drama ends all square

Hekimoglu Trabzon and Ankarademirspor played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Turkish Second League on Sunday evening. The hosts twice held the lead, but Ankarademirspor showed resilience to fight back and earn a point in a match that swung one way and then the other.

Hekimoglu Trabzon started strongly and looked capable of taking full control, but their failure to kill the game off proved costly. Ankarademirspor grew in confidence as the match progressed and found a late equaliser to silence the home crowd.

Match overview

The home side began with purpose, pressing high and forcing Ankarademirspor into early mistakes. Their opening goal came after a sustained period of pressure, and for a while they looked the more likely team to score again. However, Ankarademirspor equalised against the run of play with a well-executed counterattack.

Hekimoglu Trabzon restored their lead before half-time, and they carried that advantage deep into the second half. But as legs tired and spaces opened, Ankarademirspor pushed more players forward. Their persistence was rewarded with a late goal that changed the mood inside the stadium.

Key moments

• 18' – Hekimoglu Trabzon 1-0: A neat move down the right ended with a shot into the far corner.
• 36' – Ankarademirspor 1-1: A fast break and a composed finish brought the visitors level.
• 44' – Hekimoglu Trabzon 2-1: A free-kick was only partially cleared, and the follow-up was drilled home.

Tactical story

Hekimoglu Trabzon set up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to dominate through quick passing in wide areas. Their full-backs pushed high, creating crossing opportunities, and the front four rotated well to find pockets of space. For 45 minutes, the plan worked effectively.

Ankarademirspor adjusted after the break. They tightened their midfield, stopped the easy passes into wide areas, and began to launch more direct attacks. The introduction of fresh legs gave them renewed energy, and Hekimoglu Trabzon’s decision to defend their lead invited pressure. The late equaliser was a reward for their willingness to keep pushing.

Standout players

• Hekimoglu Trabzon playmaker: Created several chances and was central to both goals.
• Ankarademirspor striker: Held the ball up well and scored the crucial late equaliser.
• Hekimoglu Trabzon goalkeeper: Made two strong saves but was beaten by a scrappy late finish.
• Ankarademirspor midfielder: Drove his team forward in the second half and never stopped running.

What it means

A draw feels like a missed opportunity for Hekimoglu Trabzon, who held the lead twice and will regret not managing the closing stages better. Ankarademirspor, meanwhile, will take confidence from a determined away performance and a point earned late in the game. In a competitive Turkish Second League campaign, such moments can prove important come the end of the season.
