Karacabey Belediyespor secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fethiyespor in the Turkish Second League on October 4, 2026. A single goal was enough to separate the sides in a tense encounter that saw the visitors defend resolutely to claim all three points on the road.

Match Overview

Fethiyespor started brightly, with the home crowd urging them forward. They dominated possession in the opening 20 minutes but struggled to create clear chances against a compact Karacabey defence. The visitors grew into the game and began to threaten on the break. The decisive moment came in the 58th minute when Karacabey's striker latched onto a through ball and slotted calmly past the advancing goalkeeper. Fethiyespor pushed hard for an equaliser, but a combination of wasteful finishing and heroic defending kept them at bay.

Tactical Story

Fethiyespor set up in a 4-3-3, looking to use width to stretch the opposition. However, Karacabey Belediyespor's 4-4-2 mid-block frustrated them, with the two banks of four denying space between the lines. The visitors' game plan was clear: soak up pressure and hit on the counter. It worked perfectly, as they scored from one of their few meaningful attacks. Fethiyespor's manager made attacking substitutions, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Standout Players

Karacabey's goalscorer was the obvious hero, taking his chance with composure. Their goalkeeper also produced a string of saves, particularly in the second half, to preserve the clean sheet. For Fethiyespor, the central midfielder worked tirelessly, completing the most passes and interceptions, but the forward line misfired. The home side's left-back was a constant threat going forward but was left exposed defensively at times.

Table and Season Impact

The win lifts Karacabey Belediyespor into the playoff places, a significant boost for a club with ambitions of promotion. Fethiyespor, meanwhile, remain in the lower half of the table and are now without a win in four matches. The pressure is mounting on the home side's manager to turn things around. Next up, Fethiyespor travel to a fellow struggler, while Karacabey host a top-six side in a real test of their credentials.
