Mazidagi Fosfatspo edged past Kirsehir Koyhizmetleri with a narrow 1-0 victory in their Turkish Cup (TUR Kupası) clash on October 7, 2026. A single second-half goal was enough to settle a tense encounter and send the home side into the next round of Turkey's premier knockout competition.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, both teams showed the caution typical of a cup tie where a single mistake can end the campaign. Mazidagi Fosfatspo, playing in front of their home supporters, looked to press high early but struggled to create clear chances against a well-organized Kirsehir Koyhizmetleri defense. The first half was largely a midfield battle, with few shots on target. Kirsehir's best opportunity came from a free-kick in the 28th minute, but the effort sailed just over the crossbar. The visitors grew into the game as the half wore on, yet they lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Key Moments

The decisive moment arrived in the 67th minute. Mazidagi Fosfatspo won a corner on the right side, and the delivery was whipped into the penalty area with pace. Center-back Emre Kaya rose highest, glancing a header into the far corner to send the home crowd into raptures. Kirsehir pushed forward in search of an equalizer, and they nearly found it ten minutes later when a goal-bound shot was cleared off the line by Mazidagi's captain, Mustafa Yılmaz. The visitors continued to probe but were met with a stubborn defensive wall.

Tactical Story

After taking the lead, Mazidagi Fosfatspo switched to a defensive 4-4-2 formation, looking to protect their advantage and hit on the counter. Kirsehir Koyhizmetleri dominated possession in the final 20 minutes, but their crosses into the box were repeatedly dealt with by the home defense. The away side's manager made attacking substitutions, but the lack of a clinical finisher proved costly. Mazidagi's game plan was simple but effective: defend deep, stay compact, and take the one chance that came their way.

Standout Players

• Emre Kaya (Mazidagi Fosfatspo): The goal-scoring hero, who also made several crucial clearances at the back.
• Mustafa Yılmaz (Mazidagi Fosfatspo): The captain led by example, with a goal-line clearance that proved just as important as the goal.
• Okan Demir (Kirsehir Koyhizmetleri): The midfielder was his team's most creative outlet, but he was often isolated in the final third.

What It Means

The victory sends Mazidagi Fosfatspo into the next round of the TUR Kupası, where they will face either a higher-tier opponent or another lower-league side. For Kirsehir Koyhizmetleri, the defeat marks an early exit from a competition they had hoped to use as a springboard for their season. The narrow scoreline reflects the fine margins of cup football, and Mazidagi will take confidence from their defensive resilience as they continue their cup run.
