Fethiyespor 1-2 Eyupspor: Visitors Complete Comeback in TUR Kupası

Eyupspor produced a composed second-half response to beat Fethiyespor 2-1 in the TUR Kupası on 28 October 2026, turning a difficult away tie into a valuable victory. Fethiyespor had taken the lead and threatened to make home advantage count, but Eyupspor’s patience and sharper finishing in the final third proved decisive.

Match overview

The hosts started with energy and looked comfortable in possession early on, using the width of the pitch to stretch Eyupspor’s defensive block. That pressure eventually produced the opening goal, and for a period Fethiyespor looked the more likely side to add a second. Eyupspor, however, stayed in the contest by tightening their midfield and reducing the space between the lines.

The equaliser changed the mood of the tie. Eyupspor began to dictate the tempo after the break, moving the ball more quickly and finding pockets of space behind Fethiyespor’s advanced full-backs. The winning goal arrived in the second half, capping a comeback that reflected the visitors’ improved control and greater composure in front of goal.

Key moments

• Fethiyespor opener: The home side broke the deadlock with a well-worked move down the right, finished with a low strike across the goalkeeper.
• Eyupspor equaliser: A patient passing sequence pulled Fethiyespor out of shape, allowing Eyupspor to level before the interval.
• Decisive goal: Eyupspor’s winner came after a turnover in midfield, with a quick forward pass releasing an attacker to finish calmly.
• Late resistance: Fethiyespor pushed numbers forward in the closing stages, but Eyupspor defended their box with maturity.

Tactical story

Fethiyespor’s early plan was clear: press high, win the ball in wide areas, and deliver early crosses. It worked well for the opening half-hour, but the hosts struggled to maintain that intensity once Eyupspor began circulating possession more patiently. The visitors’ midfield trio grew into the game, winning second balls and forcing Fethiyespor to retreat.

Eyupspor’s comeback was built on better game management rather than a dramatic change in system. Their wingers stayed wider after the break, stretching the home defence and creating room for late runs into the box. Fethiyespor, chasing the game, left more space behind their midfield line, and Eyupspor punished that risk with the winning goal.

Standout performers

Eyupspor’s midfield anchor was central to the comeback, breaking up play and setting the tempo for the second-half improvement. The match-winner showed composure under pressure, while the visiting goalkeeper made a crucial save at 1-1 to keep the score level. For Fethiyespor, the opening scorer was the brightest attacking outlet, but the home side’s defensive line struggled to contain Eyupspor’s quicker combinations after the break.

What the result means

The 2-1 win gives Eyupspor the upper hand in the cup tie and rewards their ability to adapt during the match. Fethiyespor will be disappointed to have led and lost, especially after a promising start, but the performance offered evidence of their attacking potential. In a knockout competition, small margins matter, and Eyupspor’s superior finishing and second-half control were the difference on the night.
