Full-time: Şanlıurfaspor 3-1 Golcukspor

Şanlıurfaspor secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Golcukspor in the TUR Kupası on 28 October 2026, advancing with a performance built on patience, pressing and timely goals. The home side controlled long spells of the contest and deservedly pulled away after Golcukspor had briefly threatened to make a game of it.

Played under the lights at 20:00, the cup tie had the feel of a proper knockout encounter early on. Şanlıurfaspor set the tempo, Golcukspor tried to stay compact, and the difference in quality in the final third ultimately proved decisive.

Match overview

Şanlıurfaspor began with purpose. Their midfield pressed forward, the full-backs pushed high and the front players looked to attack the space behind Golcukspor’s defence. The hosts were rewarded for their early dominance with the opening goal, and from that point they looked the more likely side to score again.

Golcukspor remained organised and tried to threaten on the counter, but they struggled to keep possession for long enough to relieve pressure. A second Şanlıurfaspor goal before the break gave the home side a comfortable cushion, even if the visitors remained within touching distance.

Key moments

The first goal arrived after a spell of sustained pressure, with Şanlıurfaspor working the ball into a dangerous position and finishing with composure. The second followed before half-time, a crucial blow for Golcukspor, who had defended stubbornly but could not hold out indefinitely.

Golcukspor responded after the interval and pulled one back, giving the away supporters hope of a comeback. For a short period, the match became more open. However, Şanlıurfaspor managed the game well, slowed the tempo when needed and restored their two-goal advantage late on to secure the result.

Tactical story

Şanlıurfaspor’s approach was built around controlling the middle of the pitch and using width to stretch Golcukspor’s defensive block. Their midfielders were quick to support attacks, and the home side consistently won the second balls that followed long clearances. That allowed them to keep the pressure on and prevent Golcukspor from building rhythm.

Golcukspor defended in a compact shape and tried to spring forward on the break. They had moments of promise, especially after scoring, but they were unable to sustain pressure for long enough. Şanlıurfaspor’s ability to regain control after conceding was the key difference between the two sides.

Standout performers

Şanlıurfaspor’s attacking players were central to the win, combining well in tight areas and making intelligent runs behind the defence. The midfield also deserved credit for its energy and discipline, while the goalkeeper produced an important save when the score was still 1-0.

Golcukspor’s goal was a reward for their persistence, and their captain led by example in difficult circumstances. Ultimately, though, the visitors lacked the cutting edge needed to turn their brief spell of momentum into an equaliser.

What it means

For Şanlıurfaspor, the result is a timely confidence boost and a place in the next round of the TUR Kupası. A 3-1 home win gives the team something to build on, especially with the attacking fluency they showed for long stretches. Golcukspor will take encouragement from their second-half response, but the defeat leaves them with plenty to work on.

In cup football, control and efficiency matter. Şanlıurfaspor had both, and that was enough to see off a determined Golcukspor side.
