Ankara Keciorengucu 1-1 Sivasspor: Spoils Shared in Turkish First League Clash

Ankara Keciorengucu and Sivasspor played out a competitive 1-1 draw in the Turkish First League on Saturday evening, with both sides taking a point from a match that ebbed and flowed at the Aktepe Stadium. The result leaves Sivasspor still in the hunt for promotion back to the Super Lig, while Keciorengucu continue to show they can mix it with the division’s bigger names.

Sivasspor, relegated from the top flight in a previous season and desperate to return, arrived in the capital as favourites. But Keciorengucu, known for their organised and energetic approach, were more than a match for their more illustrious opponents.

Match Overview

• Competition: Turkish First League (1. Lig)
• Venue: Aktepe Stadium, Ankara
• Date: 19 September 2026
• Final score: Ankara Keciorengucu 1–1 Sivasspor

The home side started brightly, pressing Sivasspor high and forcing several early turnovers. Their reward came midway through the first half when a quick move down the left ended with a low cross that was converted from close range. The Aktepe Stadium erupted, and for a while Keciorengucu looked the more likely side to add to their lead.

Sivasspor, however, are a team with quality and experience. They gradually settled into the game, began to dominate possession, and equalised just before the break. A clever through ball split the Keciorengucu defence, and the Sivasspor striker rounded the goalkeeper before rolling the ball into an empty net.

Key Moments

• 23’ — Keciorengucu take the lead with a close-range finish.
• 41’ — Sivasspor equalise after a slick through-ball and composed finish.
• 55’ — Keciorengucu hit the post from a free-kick.
• 72’ — Sivasspor’s striker is denied by a fine save.
• 88’ — A late header goes just wide for the visitors.

The second half was a tactical battle. Sivasspor saw more of the ball, but Keciorengucu’s back four held their shape well and limited clear chances. The home side nearly regained the lead when a free-kick rattled the post, and Sivasspor had a strong penalty appeal turned down late on. In the end, a draw was a fair reflection of a tightly contested match.

Tactical Story

Keciorengucu lined up in a 4-2-3-1, looking to use their pace on the wings to stretch Sivasspor’s defence. Their goal came from exactly that pattern: a quick switch of play, an overlap, and a cross into the box. Defensively, they dropped into a compact 4-4-2 when Sivasspor had the ball, making it difficult for the visitors to play through the middle.

Sivasspor, meanwhile, favoured a possession-based approach, with their midfielders looking to dictate the tempo. They found joy when they played direct balls in behind the Keciorengucu defence, and their equaliser was a perfect example of that. In the second half, they pushed their full-backs higher, but the hosts defended their box admirably.

Standout Players

Sivasspor’s goalscorer was a constant threat, using his movement to pull the centre-backs out of position. Their goalkeeper also made a crucial save at 1-1 to keep the score level. For Keciorengucu, the left winger was a livewire throughout, providing the assist for the goal and causing problems with his dribbling. The home captain led by example in midfield, breaking up play and starting attacks.

Table and Season Impact

The draw keeps Sivasspor in the promotion mix, but they will view it as two points dropped against a side they were expected to beat. Keciorengucu, on the other hand, will be satisfied with a point against one of the league’s strongest squads. In the race for the Super Lig, every point matters, and both teams know they will need to turn draws into wins as the season progresses.

Next up, Sivasspor return home for a crucial fixture, while Keciorengucu face another tough test on the road. The Turkish First League is notoriously competitive, and this result underlines just how difficult it is to predict.
